I need to do a video on this. I get so many comments about it. I simply use screenpal to record my screen. I will definitely do a tutorial of this soon! But basically you just download something like screenpal (free version is what I use) and you choose record, you can record just your screen, just you (camera) or the screen and you. It's super easy to use. xoxo

I thought about putting cards on my videos but I was worried that they would leave the video without finishing it. Is this a legit concern?

Yes, it is definitely something to consider. I think if you place them too soon in your video it could hurt your average view duration because they pop off your video, however they are still staying on the platform and consuming content which KZbin likes, unless it is a link to your website which takes them away from the platform. Personally, I think links to websites and products or merch, would be best placed in the description below. I think they can also be beneficial because they allow you to promote some of your other material that might benefit the viewer and answer additional questions they have that the current video isn't addressing, hence putting it towards the end of the video or after they have surpassed the average view durations for your videos would be beneficial in my opinion, it could help keep them on your channel, especially if you place a playlist as a card.
