With Hoobs please make sure to change the python version to 2.7 using this command Go to terminal and type sudo update-alternatives --config python Press to keep the current choice[*], or type selection number of the path to /usr/bin/python2.7 Restart HOOBS Service

It’s so expensive to connect everything to HomeKit just for a little more slick look. Alexa can do some damage and take over if they can just add widgets that are useful for light control and such.

Well like google home - Apple HomeKit is baked into iOS, MacOS, WatchOS as well as iPadOS - for those who are in the eco-system - it makes sense to go down the Apple HomeKit way plus it works all locally unlike google or alexa. Actually you the state of the device will be updated in homebridge as well with no issues

as long as you can add in Magic Home and consult your router for your IP address - your good to go :)

Eddie, installed Magic Home and it shows up in Hoobs however cannot control lights and it does not show up in "My Home". IP address is correct. What am I doing wrong?

Please use this plugin as it auto discovers the devices. Its a certified Homebridge / HOOBS plugin plugins.hoobs.org/plugin/homebridge-magichome-dynamic-platform

Thank you for this. I am new to Hoobs/Homebridge and I could not get this to work until your video! I did have 2 questions: 1) Are you able to set a preset switch for just a single color with no effects? 2) Say I have lights in my kitchen I want switches for, and lights in my basement I want switches for...can I make them specific to a string or will it just go to all? Glad it was helpful! And here are my responses 1. You can create a preset switch for each of the LED controller plus if need to control them for a specific color then i'd recommend to create a scene with a combination of other lighting fixtures. 2. For each IP address you can create a preset which means you can control them separately. When you create multiple presets - just make sure they nest within the lighting fixture so that its applicable to that IP address only.

Welcome aboard! Please try this plugin plugins.hoobs.org/plugin/homebridge-magichome-dynamic-platform and it will auto-discover and the magic home devices into HOOBS and then export it to HomeKit. Cheers

if your on iOS - tap on settings > device settings > (tap on the device) > Device Information. Make sure to reserve the IP address in your router. Cheers

Hello Rayan - check your wifi connectivity - these magic home devices need good Wifi signal to connect.
