Great video and very concise. Thanks for sharing! I have a question: I own the Antelope Audio Zen Q, which lacks the coaxial port that your AA Discrete has. It only has an ADAT in port. Will the Behringer ADA8200 still work with my setup? Many thanks in advance!

thank you Reinaldo, coaxial port allows the clock sync, so without it the sync is not possible... 🤷

@@soymartino mate, I took the chance and got myself the ADA8200, as based on its technical documentation, it could be used with the ZenQ. I've used the ADA8200 as the master clock source at 44.1 kHz (it can be set to 48 kHz and still work perfectly as well). From my interface's software controller, I set it to ADA1, and that was it. The ADAT output from the ADA8200 not only sends the 8 separate channels but also the clocking to the ADAT input of my Antelope Audio ZenQ Synergy Core. Moreover, I was able to route 6 of the inputs from the ADA8200 to the first 6 channels of the digital mixer and used the effects with no latency whatsoever. I thought you might be interested to know that. Many thanks to you for triggering all this experimentation and subsequent feedback here.

@reinaldolopezh great to hear that,...but the latency is sometimes inaudible even when there is some (visible only graphically when comparing two waves) .. thank you for sharing your experience

I've had a lot of problems with mine. Clicks and pops on 6 of the 8 channels. If I flip the switch on the back to a different sample rate and then back it will work for awhile.

How long is your toslink optical cable?
@tractorgt3 ай бұрын
@@RealHomeRecording they are only about 12 inches long. However they are those super thin kind we had with the adats back in the 90's.

@@tractorgt Hmm...I just bought one so I'll see how my ridiculously long Monster toslink cable works (or doesn't, hahaha) with it! Could also be an issue with the master audio interface's clock.

What kind of cable was that for the clock?
@soymartino6 ай бұрын
it's a coaxial cable

If i use 2 ada8200 How can i clock sync it?
@soymartino7 ай бұрын
set the ADA8200 to slave mode and your main audiointerface to master mode
