1. Use it repeatedly: say it in atleast 38 unique occasions. 2. Pause: take a deep breath, give your brain time to pick the proper word. 3. Create a heuristic: associate the word with visual images, create many sentences using it.

I recently began reading a book called "Bleak House". This book made me realise JUST how badly I speak. When I tell you I filled 5 pages with words I don't know from just the first 7 chapters is crazy

@@kiss3514Perhaps they mean the book by Charles Dickens. Keep in mind that one was written in the 19th century.

Im writing a book right now after watching anne of green gables and also the netflix series and currently reading the books, i got inspired to make a similar story not with the same storyline but with similar themes of the edwardian era and vibes like that because i really loved the vocabulary and the big words so i wanted to replicate that but im having chatgpt to help me because i simply cannot structure my sentances in that way abd especially dont know that many words to be able to use that vocabulary so i really wanna learnnn

While you were expounding on vocabulary, there were words that you were using that I’m going to write down to use, it shows that you actually have done the work. Great job!

Thank you! I am 60 yrs old and working to improve all areas of my life. I've spent a decade or more spinning in a circle I feel. I was always aware that my vocabulary was lacking. This video is my first start to improve. (Laughing at my poor vocab in this comment)

Thanks for the advice! They are really practical. Whenever I cannot recall a word, slowing myself down is very beneficial. I hope more people will notice this channel, I have just subscribed and this is by far one of the best channels I have subscribed. Keep up with the good work Joseph! ☺

Do you have any recommendation like a an english club where you get to meet all students in one room via online that will probably mimic an english environment.

The problem is, how do I find new words to add to my vocabulary. And don't say read books, that's just waste of time.

Well, I reckon reading a book and expressing a conscious effort of identifying and indexing words to later attempt to integrate into your speech would be the way. Podcasts also help, and even writing academic or professional work could highlight synonyms you wouldn't have used otherwise. Similarly, asking ChatGPT to make your email content "sound more professional" before sending it can also cement some new words and phrasing within your vocabulary (at least it does for me). Depending on your circle, attempting to integrate those words could feel pretentious, but it is towards your benefit, as whether we like it or not, a wider vocabulary definitely makes your professional and personal life better (especially in interviews fr).
