Just wanted to stop by and say, even a year and a half after you made this video, it's still helping people. Thanks! :D

Great video. So weird to have to do a workaround to create no-follow links. This video is definitely my reference for creating no-follows for sure.

How do you add a nofollow tag to a button created with the gutenberg blocks?
@tropicalista5 жыл бұрын
You can't. If you try to edit html then you cannot more use button block. This is a gutenberg pitfall and something developers should fix. Right now you can extend blocks and add your requirements.

This is something that I've been wondering too. I need the ability to add nofollow to button links!! Not to mention, they really should add a checkbox or toggle for follow/nofollow on text links just like the "open in new tab" Both of these features seem like massive oversights to me...

Thanks - that was helpful. Found your video after trying Gutenberg tonight. I wish buttons behaved in a similar fashion. They don't have an option even to open in new window. And adding the rel and target attributes to them makes them into HTML blocks that no longer have a visual appearance in the editor. I use a button shortcode included in the theme I use but I was hoping for a baked in method so that if I change themes down the road I don't end up with a bunch of shortcodes that need fixing. I don't understand why Wordpress doesn't include these types of options somewhere. I was hoping it was in the advanced section on the side but no love.

This was fantastic! Thank you. I am loving the fact that it's so easy to add the rel no follow tag now, thanks to Gutenberg. I do wish they'd bring in the checkbox functionality in the main editor itself, so fingers crossed :)
