Are you in America? Some countries with very soft water don’t have a salt reservoir

@@LurgsHowToGuides Mexico. And our water here in Yucatán is probably the hardest water I’ve ever seen, stains and limestone everywhere. I will go and see the shop today but I read that I may need to add a salt pellets to the reservoir where the dishwashing pod is added.

Ok so my darling husband filled the salt on our dishwasher loaded it and turned it on after around 10mins the electric tripped we discovered afterwards that he forgot to put the cap back on before he turned on the washer do you have any advice as when i tried plugging it back in it just instantly trips

Not sure how leaving the cap off would trip the electrics, how bizarre. Maybe try unplugging dishwasher from Mains plug for a while.

my salt dissolved up to a point when it stopped dissolving. Now I have the salt container filed with water and the salt on the bottom of the container just doesn't dissolve anymore. Could this be a problem or is it a normal thing ?

Not sure what you mean. The salt reservoir is full of water so the salt will naturally dissolve over time. That’s normal.

@@LurgsHowToGuides i waited 2 hours for the salt to dissolve but without any progress, so i couldn't add the whole 1 kg as in the manual. The water level in the container was already to the top, and the salt on the bottom was not dissolving anymore. Then I just started to use the dishwasher at that stage, even if the salt was still on the bottom. Is it a bad thing ? :( I will check again if the salt dissolved the next time i wash something.

@@GotterVibez that’s fine it won’t completely dissolve. Just fill it to the top then put the lid on. You won’t get the whole bag in as there will always be bits at the bottom

What if you forget to add water for the first time? I added salt and then ran rinse and then remembered I need to add water! When I opened the reservoir cap, I saw it’s already filled with water and I can’t add more water or it will spill out! So I closed the cap and ran a rinse again 😂 I hope I haven’t screwed up the new dishwasher.

No damage done. The first time you add salt there wouldn't have been any water in the reservoir. you don't add water to the salt reservoir, the dishwasher does that automatically!

No, not if you have 3 in 1. We still use salt as live in a chalky hard water area
