Hey Kevin, I still have Powerpoint 2010. It doens't have those add-ins. How can I get a timer without them?
@ewynkoopinWi2 жыл бұрын
@@hardyho I think you'll need to create your own, like Kevin did in the first three options. Experiment with the animation features in your version of PowerPoint. I created a tall bar that counts down over one minute for trivia questions. The timer is on the far right of the slide with the question and multiple choice solutions to the left. It looks so cool and works great! Good luck with your timer.

Kevin one of the best easy to follow tutorials. I made something more intricate even and was so proud of myself. My husband is a rockstar with this stuff but I was impatient and he was asleep. I pulled up 5 how to vids before yours within seconds I abandoned each previous as one there was little or no explaining and too fast. I would love to demonstrate what I made but mostly thank you and will share your content when someone needs help and I will be going to your channel first when seeking how to stuff like this. Thanks again...

Hello Kevin, I am impressed by both your deep knowledge in PowerPoint and comprehensive presentation, clear speech, clear accent also for us the nonnative English speakers, colored pronunciation and so many other details that really put you somewhere at the top. However, please allow and old fashion programmer to introduce a thought that is both comment and suggestion coming out of a lot of programming and teaching experience. To be honest, I do know programming but I am also missing important details that popped up in modern programming during the period I was acting more as a manager than as a programmer and unfortunately the gap is not that easy to be filled. Coming to point, I have taken quite a lot of your ideas but I am missing the ability to include the clocks and timers in all slides automatically, rather than copying clocks and timers to every single slide. Instead, I would prefer to have them inserted in a master slide and to activate them form there. I did tried to insert in the master slide a shape presenting a clock or the countdown time for the whole presentation, but I failed to achieve changing iots value and display the real time. Every effort failed. It is obvious that I am missing something and thus I am wondering whether you could guide us in doing something similar. Thanks a lot in advance and I do understand that you have many projects to achieve rather than teaching and old fashion programmer. Be well, take care, thing wisely.

PowerPoint timers + video-conferencing? Thanks for the advice about timers Kevin. Many of us are delivering presentations via video-conferencing - is there a way to ensure the timer continues whilst, say, admitting people to a video conference? I've created a countdown timer ("xyz will start in nn minutes"), but whenever I admit someone to the conference, the PowerPoint timer stops. Is there a way to prevent this? I am using Presenter view, using monitor 1 for notes plus conferencing controls, sharing the presentation from monitor 2. Thanks
