I can honestly say after watching your videos and following you and taking your advice of walking and lifting weights and following your instructions about how to properly control a calorie deficit that I have lost 50 pounds and feel better than I have in four years when I used to train regularly, thank you so much for the motivation and the inspiration.

70 yrs old, bad spinal arthritis, occasional herniated discs, subluxations, inoperable. I'm Deb's husband Mike. Been watching u well over a year when I saw u with Dr. Norton who I believe is great & under appreciated. I never miss your videos. I've been working out natural since late teens. Was real pretty till my early 50's, then the arthritis progressed rapidly. Watching John Meadows inspired me to fight through it. Went from 252lbs at 5-8, to my current 164. You helped. I find I can still do all back supposed lifts, & have a pendulum machine which allows me to do light legs. I can also bodyweight sumo, took me a while. I'm happy for your success & appreciate your help. I'm again stronger than the average guy half my age with great endurance. Wish I could treadmill, but I get cardio with super high rep low rest round robin on my machines. There's always a way

Paul, with so much misinformation out there I find your channel a safe haven. I implememted your protocols with my own nutrition/training plan and took a leap of faith. I am six weeks in and down 10lbs and can see my abs starting to pop through. Haven’t seen these old friends in about 24 years! Also starting to see the “beach muscles” starting to pop. Thank you for your no nonsense factual approach. I always look forward to new videos and expert advice. Keep up the great work!

Hi Paul having lost 30 pounds just by walking and watching what I eat as I don’t have access to a gym I find myself only doing cardio and eating between 1800 -2000 calories per day I am using fat secret to track my meals I am finding that I have to do more exercise to burn the amount of calories I would usually burn doing less cardio I am doing an average of about 20,000 steps a day Love the channel been watching for a while now

I was in the same situation a few years ago. Sounds like your metabolism is slowing down and getting used to being in a calorie deficit. I did two things Paul teaches to fix this. 1 took a diet break and bumped up my calories to a maintenance level then started getting stronger the added muscle will increase your metabolism. I went from 1800 gaining weight to now losing weight on 2300. Since you don’t have access to a gym. My go to bodyweight training exercises are push ups all types regular, pike, diamond etc. regular squats, Bulgarian split squat. Pull ups and chin ups. You can get a great workout in just using body weight. Hope this helps you like it helped me.

Thanks for all the great content! I have a question about maintaining the proper caloric deficit. With your calculator my target is 1891 calories. I am using the "Lose It!" app to track my nutrition. I noticed that when I input my workouts into the Lose It app it adds applies those calories as a credit to my intake for the day allowing me to consume more calories. Is this a correct way to go, or should I be aiming for a straight 1891 calories regardless of exercise? Thanks for the help!!

I am coming off of hip surgery where I was unable to even put weight on my leg for 6 weeks. I am working on getting the weight. I have been been doing what you say about walking and your protein goals. I eat between 2,600 to 2,800 calories a day which has 225 grams of protein. I have dropped 30 pounds since March. I am trying to put muscle on but still drop weight at the same time. I have about another 30 pounds I want to drop. Should I do cardio before my weight lifting or the other way. I do about 20k steps a day. Just not sure how to build muscle and still drop weight.

On Sept 18 I was 163.2lbs and now on Oct 5 I’m at 156lbs. I walk over 12k steps a day and 8k+ of those steps is exercise. I’ve also cut out sugar, salt and processed foods. The first 2 weeks I subbed my carbs for farro and this week I’m trying only protein and veggies just to “see”. I google a lot of info because idk much of what my body needs to lose weight and gain muscle but the goal here is to get fit and gain muscle. I also want to see my muscles so that means I need to shed my coat of blubber lol. I track everything I eat. It’s not easy eating ground turkey and broccoli sometimes but I just tell myself “FAT lasts longer than FLAVOR” and I remind myself that I’m eating to live. I no longer live to eat because I really do love good food lol. 41yo mom of a 4yo and 6yo trying not to be tired and frumpy. Everyone can do it!

It’s been a month since my last post. Now I’m 146, still eating protein and veggies. After walking everyday I went from one mile a day ( a month ago) to now 3 miles a day with a light jog. I still have 3 lbs till my goal of 20lbs. Afterwards, I will set new goals. It’s possible!

I can't gain weight. I'm 6'2" and been at single digit bodyfat for months. Visible veins everywhere, including lower abs and thighs, and visible striations everywhere. I'm very lean though, and I've been sitting right around 150lbs. I've been at 3,500 average daily calories for months. Some days a couple hundred higher or couple hundred lower, but about 3.5K average. Daily macros are 400-500 carbs, 80-100g fat or sometimes a bit over 100g, and over 200g protein daily. I'm trying to eat up to the size I want, and just can't get big. What do I do? I lift at least 5 days a week, but my activity is high as well. 15k-20k daily steps average. Sometimes more. I also bike at least 5 days a week, at about 15-20 miles per day. Is the cardio and steps what's hurting my ability to gain more muscle mass? I have muscle and 6 pack and a super ripped physique. I just want everything bigger. Also, I'm not trying to gloat or anything, by sharing physique details. Just providing context.
