Literally just did this today cause of your video. Super easy, and thanks for posting it cause everyone was making it out to be a big deal. Literally saved me hundreds of dollars, and it took maybe 45 minutes with going to the auto parts store to rent, then return the kit. Thanks again.

I put the ford performance bumper and a winch on my ranger, I have to do this soon, my suspension is too mushy now.
@toyotabros686017 күн бұрын
Yes, you might have to crank up the front coils or buy stiffer ones. It could also be your tires. Most MT tires sidewalls are not as stiff as a typical truck tires. This causes a lot of sway when the truck is loaded.

Fox told me you move the nut 1/4” to gain about 3/4” of hight but if you went a full inch maybe they don’t know what they are talking about. They also told me o could just lift the truck up and they should turn but I couldn’t get it to move.
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the nut distance to height gain. Mine could’ve of been different because I am running 1.25” wheel spacers, with center offset wheels. Also my shocks are about 4 years old. Yes, on the fox 2.0 with aluminum threads, they won’t spin with any load on them, you have to take them out of the truck, which is a real pain.

I read online if you throw these on without adjustment on a 3rd gen taco it adds 1inch to the lift; but if you do it on a 2nd gen it adds 2 Inches. Any truth to that?
@toyotabros68608 ай бұрын
I am unsure, I have only got fox 2.0 on a 2012 f150 and a 1st gen Tacoma

About it to try this out.. how’ve they been after a year? Notice much gain in stiffness?
@toyotabros6860Ай бұрын
It was stiffer. But really not too bad. I had old man emu leafs springs in the back and I think those were way too stiff with anything less than 500lbs in the bed.

Completely different topic. Are those shocks’ lower rod ends bushing or spherical bearings? Checking for aftermarket LCA compatibility
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
I am not sure, but i do have the fox serial number for the lower bushing Bearing - 001-00-023 Retaining ring -038-00-092 Rubber o ring 029-00-321 When I google the bearing serial number, it comes back as a spherical bearing.
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
I am sure it’s a spherical type.

Might be a dumb question but its not 1 for 1 right? For example, if I need 1 inch of lift I do turn the spanner nut 1 inch?
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
The distance from the wheel hub to the lower control pivot point is about twice long from the distance to the pivot point to the shock. With my 1.5" wheel spacers it created just over a 2" lift. But remember, the fox 2.0 coil come stock with a 1.5" lift from the factory ( I think).

It comes 2 inch from the factory!@@toyotabros6860

What if I want to lower my car do I still need to use the coil over compressor?
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
You could try it using WD-40 and a hammer. But it still might not work. I tried lowering a f150 with fox 2.0s and the coils didn’t budge. We had to take them off.

So here’s a dumb question… by running the nut up towards to top, did that lower or raise your ride height?
@toyotabros68607 ай бұрын
Compressing the coil, running the nut up, Will increase ride height.

Hello, I need your help, I have this suspension on my 2017 Ranger, is this adjustment for the height or for the hardness of the spring?
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
By adjusting the springs as shown in the video. The ride height will increase. And the stiffness of the spring will increase as well.
@luisalonso3314 Жыл бұрын
@@toyotabros6860 Ok, but even increasing the height as much as possible, is it still a comfortable suspension?
@toyotabros686017 күн бұрын
No, don’t increase it as much as possible. Look at your CV Axle angle and make sure it’s not too steep. Also for light duty / off-road trucks I like to have the front sit about 1/2” lower than the back. You probably don’t need to mess with the coil unless you install a heavy bumper and winch system.

Question bro, I have a 2000 Tundra w/ stock suspension. So it has that little front nose dive. Was gonna throw these 2.0s in the front. Will that level the truck? Or will I still need spacers?
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
When I threw the 2.0s onto my Tacoma straight out of the box, it leveled the truck. But since the old leafs springs in the back we’re sagging, it made the front ride 1/4” higher than the back. But in theory the fox 2.0s should level the truck. And no spacer should be needed.
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
These fox coils are stiffer than stock, but not as stiff as Old Man Emus. But ether option is fine. Also, I have blown out skyjackers and stock Toyota shocks on trails. But after 5 years, the coils are still good. As well as the fox shocks in the back.
@toyotabros6860 Жыл бұрын
And if your back leafs are sagging, I really like the Old Man Emu leaf springs in the back, but I took one leaf out of the pack to make it ride smoother, and it was pretty good

How much lift did you get at 3” of threads? Doing mine rn 😂

It went from 4.5” from fender to tire to around 6.5”. But I had SPC uppers and 1.5 wheel spacers
@toyotabros68602 жыл бұрын
And 3” was a bit stiff for my truck since I don’t have any camping gear in it. I would maybe see how they feel stock or not more than 2.5, unless you are carrying a bunch of stuff

How many threads is stock height? Mine came pre set at 2” lift
@Pnw_Re269 ай бұрын
Aren’t the Fox 2.0 rated to 0-2” lift, any more will cause coils to bind and wear the internals faster? Also have you done a rebuild video as the 2.0 are rebuildable?
@toyotabros68609 ай бұрын
Maybe, no idea. The reason I had to crank the coils up is because after 4 years of wheeling, they started to sag, and I wanted the original height back. I haven’t done a full rebuild yet
