How to Adjust Hunter Irrigation Sprinkler Heads

In this video I show you how to make adjustments to your Hunter sprinkler heads including, left and right stops, water pressure, and spray nozzle. You'll need a tool (see link below) to adjust the heads and replace the nozzles.

Good video. If adjusting while turned off, they make a collar that you snap on the sprinkler neck to hold it up. Mine came with the heads; should be cheap.

It is possible that it is not a rotating sprinkler head, or that it is completely adjusted to one side, so its rotation is eliminated. Did you try adjusting it?

@@willworkforliberty yes, I tried adjusting using the white key. I can get the arc to change, but when the system is flowing the head stays stationary.

I just bought some hunter sprinkler heads. I was trying to adjust how far it would go before it stops. It doesn’t stop it just rotates in a circle. I bought different ones but I think they gave me the wrong one

Your best bet is to spray some water in there. Maybe use a spray bottle or something like that.

When I attempted to back off the screw, I could not get a connection, it has been used before to adjust but now for some reason I guess it is stripped, any ideas?

Maybe there's some dirt in there? You could try squirting some water in there to loosen it up.

Hi! Thanks for the video. What do you think could be the reason that the sprinkler does not turn? I have two placed on different lines and they are new and one of them does not rotate. The water pressure at the outlet is the same at a glance.

debris in the sprinkler or the gear drive is stripped. they cannot be cleaned or fixed. you have to replace them.

The radius adjustment is wrong, your supposed to turn the set screw to let it disrupt the water flow, that so called pressure adjustment slot is actually called flo stop, that screw is not for pressure but to turn the flow to that head off, so anyone who thinks that your not supposed to turn the screw, well you are absolutely wrong

Subhash Dani could be that your nozzle is adjusted to only rotate a very small amount. Did you try adjusting the rotation? Could also be broken. :(

The nozzle has to do with the flow and how much water it puts down to get matched precipitation, it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with distance, to adjust distance you turn the screw clockwise and make it fan the stream which will make the distance shorter, turn it counter clockwise to increase the distance

You didn't show how to adjust from stream to mist, or Mist to stream

You can adjust the strength of the sprinkler by turning the on/off screw as shown in the first part of the video, where I turn it off completely. You can then change the nozzle which will affect the angle of the stream/mist that is coming out. I touched on how to remove the nozzle right after I turned the sprinkler off. You can buy other nozzles like these (amzn.to/2L8Pbbo). Hope that helps.

@@BRISTOLFORCE2009 humm... so there's two things here. If you want to change the strength of the spray that is done by turning the screw that both you and I are taking about. If you want to change the spray pattern you have to change the colored nozzle to a different one.

@@willworkforliberty spray pattern is the screw not the nozzle, the nozzle puts out your gallons per minute, changing the nozzle is changing the flow rate

@@willworkforliberty once again, the nozzle is how much water you put down not the distance, there is only one way to do that and that is, the set screw that holds in the nozzle, turn it down more to turn down the distance and it will also give it more mist which is what he was asking, if you use low gpm nozzles and you decide to put a 6 gpm on a head doing a 90 degree arc while there is a 1.5 gpm on a 360 then your grass will have brown grass and moss, the one going 90 degrees is putting down 8x the amount that the one covering 360, the formula is this: 90 = 1.5 180 = 3.0 360 = 6.0 Or 90 = 2.0 180 = 4.0 360 = 8.0
