Did you forget to tell us about the little pin retaining collars which are so easily lost?
@vimicito Жыл бұрын
I just adjusted my watch by removing 5 chain links, easier said than done without the proper tools, but absolutely worth it. Thank you for showing me how to do this! The arrows are crucial to find the links that can be adjusted, my watch had 8 of them (4 on each side). Additionally, you can further fine-tune the size by the clip in the middle. The pin that goes in there is spring-loaded. With a nail you can dislodge the pin and move it to another slot. Also, if you have a nail with a flat head, you can use it to press into the opposite side of a link you're trying to reassemble. That keeps the structure in place. Make sure that the nail is a bit bigger than the hole though, otherwise it will wedge itself in. Keep that nail bottom side and rested on a crafting table, and whack ahead. Make sure to check regularly whether the pin is actually going where it's supposed to.

all the reactions about you "yanking" out the pin only mean they haven't tried it themselves. I found this video really useful and well put together. It sure helped me, and yes, I had to "yank" it out too. Maybe in a 2 dollar watch the pins aren't as hard to pull out, but mine surely were. And I probably would have stopped trying (out of fear of damaging the watch) if you hadn't shown that the use of force was necessary. Great job and thank you!!!!!

Thanks for this. My Wife had an old Omega watch that was a little tight, so after familiarising myself with how the pins/links worked using your guide, I was able to resize it by adding a couple of links to it. I had to make do with using a SIM needle and a meat tenderiser lol, but I was very careful and had no trouble other than being unable to recess the pins as described at 3:30.

Thanks for the tutorial. One comment though - at the end you instruct not to remove only from one side so the watch will remain centered on your wrist, but you removed 3 adjacent links - all from one side? Confusing.
@daviddoyle55403 жыл бұрын
Its not exactly confusing it just requires common sense. Although he removed 3 from one side it was still fairly centred. If you need to make bigger adjustments and remove 4 or 5 then you may need to remove links from both sides to keep the buckle centred.

Are you sure there aren't any tightening sleeves lurking in those link channels? I just adjusted a very similar bracelet on lineage LCW-M500T and was surprised and uncertain what to do about the tiny things when they started to come out when I punched out the pins. If someone runs into the same problem, don't panic. Insert the tiny sleeve on the intake hole in the bracelet link, and then put the pin in. If your pin is going through without any resistance, you probably lost a tightening sleeve. Get a magnet out and start sweeping...
