Loosen the nut only enough so you can push the wheel back with the adjusting push bolt. Rotate wheel and find the tightest section of the chain and then stop. Make your chain tension adjustment there at the tightest part of your chain. No matter what, your chain will always go loose tight lose tight lose tight. Even when you install a new chain although you may not notice it with a new chain. Point being, always make adjustment where you find the tightest section of the chain.

I think all bikes are different, best check the manual. I think if it came with a centre stand, then check it on the stand. I have checked what the difference is between side and main stand, it was 7mm on a Tiger 885i. 35mm on the side stand equated to 42mm on the main stand. Not that critical on a Tiger but on some it would be so best to check the manual.
