Just wanted to drop you a note and say thank you so much. I appreciate your videos so much. I just watched the video on your GMC Sierra where you basically replaced the entire power steering system. I identified with and feel your pain as I am in the middle of the gearbox, pump, cooler, and hose replacement on my 2001 Silverado. I like how you explain your thought process and find your videos useful and very realistic. Thanks again.

I have been trying to figure out how to fix my Troy Bilt Pony steering that will turn very sharp left but barely turn right. I tried messing with the plate you showed but it doesn't affect anything. Loosen the guide bolt, move the steering wheel then tighten doesn't change anything. The bolt you loosen is just a guide for the bottom plate. I need help cause this is driving me crazy. I've replaced the steering shaft and all that initially hoping it would help with the slop but i just want the turning to be even for both sides. Please help.

There should be a shoulder bolt in there that you just loosen, because it's got the 2 plates pinched together. When you loosen that bolt, you can Center, the gear with the same amount of teeth on both sides of the shaft that will give you the turning radius the same both ways. The bolt that you're referring to as a guide pin May not be the bolt that you're looking for perhaps It's covered with grime, or dirt . scrape. around and look for a second bolt.
