How to adjust transfer case linkage on jeep cherokee xj

if for some reason your transfer case will not shift into 4 low, try this. If done properly this will fix the problem

thanks for the video. I have a 98 zj and the linkage was so far off when I went in netural it said I was in 4 low. All I did was throw it in netural, loosed the bolt on the linkage. Went into the cab pulled it all the way back to 4 low. Tighted the bolt and now it works like a charm. Really nice for it to work now because before when I threw it in 4 low all it would do is grind.

So I have NP231 on a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. Did what you said with one twist.. I simply removed The nut and slide the bar back as far is it would go.. Did that and I got my 4 wheel drive back.. Thanks again..

I fixed my 99 Xj cause it kept doing everything fine but kept popping out of 4Low back to neutrual after I was fucking w the shifter from installing my tc THANK U BRO

Not sure if you will respond but what issues were you having that caused you to do this? Mine is loose a bit and causes a sound when idling. Not in park or drive bit when at a stop at a light

Hey, on a '95 XJ, that "pivot point" you mentioned, where it goes from the transfer case to the bracket on the frame... That whole rod assembly is sliding out on mine! Doesn't come all the way out, as it's too long, but - is there supposed to be a spring /retaining clip or something on that rod, inside the frame bracket?

Save yourself time & cut ALL that crap off!! Install a AZZY SHIFTER in under 45 min.!
