Ah, so _that's_ what those two little weird inward-pointing pushbutton thingies are! Thanks! Ok, I tried that and it works fine! Those locking pins are _stiff_ , though. I bent the tip of my smallest jeweler's screwdriver prying them out, so I had to go up to the next-larger size, which was able to do the job. After removing two links, my band now fits fine. Thanks for the helpful video!

it is possible to detach links without disconnecting the buckle, I didn't have small tools nearby so I started with L-shaped pins directly, worked perfectly

Does it have little holes on the sides of the band?

If it has the holes on the side of the band you just need to push the pins out the other side in the direction of where the arrow is point.
