I core aerated my 600m2 (6500sqf) lawn manually in last spring. Two cores at a time... Took me 3 nights to finish it but definitely made my lawn healthy and green. I left the cores on the lawn but next time I'm gonna collect them because it took like 3-4 weeks for them to decompose completely!

When I worked at the golf course we'd use that toro plugger on the greens. Fun machine to use. We'd do 9 holes one day 9 holes the next. We didnt have a way to really haul the machine so you pretty much walked the whole course and then every green. I liked it though. The last time I aerated I didn't check the underside of the rental. The user before me must have had terrible crab grass. I inoculated an entire section of lawn with crab grass seed. I top dressed with a ten to one sand/peat moss mix. Wow did that ever energize the crab grass. Took a good while to over come that mess! Thanks for the great content Grass Master Ward! Connor, I live on a hill and I mow my grass wearing nike steel cleats and it really helps a lot. I bet they would be very helpful for your lawn especially when you're doing aeration? You don't see many people talk about this. I bet it's actually helping the lawn too. By punching holes everywhere you walk. I wear them for the traction but I'm thinking I'm getting other benefits?
