Similarly, I just make it an extra blanket and pillow storage space (roll up the blankets and squish as needed) lol

I had to use mine in the bathroom for storage opposite the toilet; it was a very narrow room, so even traditional shelves on the wall would have been too wide. (The trays are just wide & long enough to hold 4 rolls of TP. 😉) But when I get my next place, I think it will be great in the kitchen as a spice rack.
@lynettamurdoch5443Ай бұрын
Great idea if you’re desperate for storage! But otherwise, there’s no need to cover every inch of wall space with something. Just center the table.
@akikom1331Ай бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Why didn't they just center the desk and give the space some symmetrical breathing room.
@phoenixjklinАй бұрын
Honestly, centering the table would make it a pain to vacuum. Those gaps would absolutely be a haven for dust bunnies. Not to mention that, at least in my opinion, it’d look even more cramped with only a sliver of space on either side. If there was a bit more space, centering it would make sense, but with what they’re working with I don’t think it’d look good at all. Leaving it like it is and maybe hanging up a plant of something in the empty corner would let it breathe way more than centering it. Of course that’s just my opinion.
@KyiecutieАй бұрын
Yup.

Btw yall you should absolutely have a couple inches clearance on either side of both your washer and dryer. They shake around a lot and if they dont have enough space they will break prematurely. Edit for clarity: when I say "shaking a lot" I don't mean it's shaking around like there's an earthquake. I mean it's going to shake a little bit every time you run it, which means that overall your washer/dryer does shake a lot OVER TIME. If your w/d is shaking heavily during a load, try not to over fill it or contact an appliance repair tech.
@jumjum114Ай бұрын
really good to know thanks!!
@PeaceOfMakeАй бұрын
If your washer and dryer shake a lot you need to get it fixed instead of leaving space around them.
@jasminejackson6826Ай бұрын
@@PeaceOfMake They do shake somewhat, at least the washer. With the force it's using to agitate the water and clothes it tends to jiggle a little. New washers without the agitator don't as much though.
@MaloneyFarrahnАй бұрын
Sounds like someone is overloading the washing machine or putting more clothes on one side than the other, creating that unbalanced shaking when it spins
@PeaceOfMakeАй бұрын
@jasminejackson6826 Jiggle is not "shaking a lot".

My room is like this. I put a small waste bin there. You could also choose to center the desk against the wall to even the gap. In my opinion, filling up the whole wall with stuff can make your room look smaller. It also makes it harder to move things when cleaning.

exactly, soft lighting really improves the ambiance of a room while also filling unwanted gaps. If that's not an option, she can just put a trash can there or just move the table to the center, it's much easier to clean the room if there's less things taking up space
@aarishowton8037Ай бұрын
I would put the table back in the middle and put a trash can on the left and a fake plant on the right. I actually found a very narrow trash can on Amazon that would fit perfectly there even with the table in the middle, I keep it in front of my floor-length mirror and it fits perfectly between my counter and this little shelf ❤

More options - 1. put a slim decor vase with dried flowers / put a hanging weeping plant. 2. Put a coat hanger 3. Install a floor lamp / hanging lamp 4. Move the table to the centre. Add a bigger mirror on wall at centre with good frame… now gap between is way less and not a eye sore. If the gap still bothers then you can get a custom ply/mdf / glass / marble top made to fit the space.

@sadist8902Ай бұрын
Easy fix for your desk: measure the space you plan to put it in, then get a desk the right size or bigger so you can cut and adjust. My wall is an awkward length and needs a custom size, I just bought 2 desks, put them together, cut a bit off (there’s also pipes on that wall so that was also cut) and painted the side. (I could’ve gotten a huge dining table as well but that would spread out too wide and not fit a chair. A long enough desk to just fit 1 would’ve costed me HUNDREDS more).
