When it comes to aiming as a whole, there should be no difference between "Arm aiming" and "Wrist aiming". When aiming you should be using your whole arm; forearm and shoulder for big movements, wrist and fingers for precision adjustments. i.e. Use your arm to flick to someone, then use your wrist and fingers to adjust to their head. Gripping your mouse in a way that makes it impossible to use your fingers, or using a sens so high that you never need to use your arm, puts you at a needless disadvantage.

Not to mention that it doesn't really matter how low or high your sens ist as long as you're consistent with it. If it isn't unreasonably high it's fine. Just because you have tenz eDPI it doesn't mean you won't get smoked by someone with a 500 or even higher eDPI.

I did similar testing last year for 15 days. Not only trying out different mouse grips, but also sensitivities. Documented all the testing along the way for headshot accuracy, autorifle/SMG tracking, flick, etc. Was quite interesting to see the results and how much better I was at another sens and mouse grip than my usual (+20% better)

Really big that you included all the different variations of this style. Everyone has differently sized arm muscles/desk elevations/mice/etc, and in order for someone to fairly try out this style, they need to first go through the variations you listed and find their best fit.

I have been arm aiming like that for a long time now with a hybrid/relaxed claw grip. I never got why so many people are chasing smaller mice and use fingertip. It's a very inconsistent combo because it lacks control and stability. Glad you see you realized this and made a video about it, because people are not talking about it much. I think the propaganda started because of RJN, however he mainly played Quake games back then. There are a wide variety of different shooters that people play nowadays, and I think relaxed claw like that would work for everything you need.
@Knji7
@Knji7 2 жыл бұрын
The main reason I subconsciously started finger tip aiming is because I was death gripping my mouse before hand and using just my finger tips helped me alleviate stress that was being caused because of the tension. I arm aimed for a long time before that but I always had trouble tracking because I paired it with a super low sensitivity and it also hurt my arm. I’m not sure if I should go back to it but I do agree it’s definitely more consistent.
@N1TRO
@N1TRO 2 жыл бұрын
Its more that light mice help with fingertip the most as it causes way less fatigue on finger muscles, which is one of the main reasons for consistency issues. And ye depends on what you want precision and reactivity- fingertip, stability and smoothness- palm and claw lens towards either end depending on personal style. A pure palm with no gap is just dumb though imo. To make use of it a very low sens is a necessity due to the lack of any micro control and if you think outside of the gaming norms you are moving a small cursor around a screen as accurately as possible. Imagine if pens/pencils were a fat circle block with a pen nib on the end. You probably could learn to use it and write well, humans are amazingly adaptable but would you consider that optimal or even efficient? Thats why the "relaxed claw" or loose palm is the only palm grip that makes any sense to me.
@Snook_
@Snook_ 2 жыл бұрын
BEcause battle royale and fast paced shooters with high recoil (such as pubg) became huge. And they require many different styles of aiming in 1 game at a high level. Light mice are far easier to do everything with, huge heavy mice are only good for slow tactical shooters where all you do is put your crosshair in the right spot and run (ie. really easy and 1 style of aiming only needed)

Also, just wanted to add that, after watching this, I tried some of the stuff and its really good, can vouch. However, fingertip on low sens (weird combo I know) is also not bad since it does require you to use your arm and have that free pivot. for those who want to do this but don't know where to start, I'd just look at prosettings and see what the median and mean edpi is, though I'm generally biased towards the median, since it's more outlier resistant. the mean edpi for val is 282 (.352 @800) which equates to about 46 cm 360. looking at the spreadsheet, the median edpi is right about 248-251 (.31-.314 @800 dpi)], or about a 52 cm 360. If you want to get in the ballpark for a median that's not published on prosettings, just take the spreadsheet, display 25 by page, and go to whatever the halfway point is in terms of number of pages (ie for Val, there are 13 pages, I'd go to page 6 and look at the bottom half) and if you play a lot of different games and can't arm aim in some of them, that's okay!

I've switched to using more arm and lowering my sens and its much more natural/consistent, the real thing to get used to is your movement, it will suffer initially from a lower sens. I've found using RawAccell to increase my y-axis sens by 1.2-1.3x makes going low sens much more comfortable, as vertical movements are much more manageable.
@chasmurphy1227
@chasmurphy1227 2 жыл бұрын
Same for me, and I similarly made the adjustment through DPI by setting my x-axis dpi to 400 and y-axis dpi to 600. I realized I naturally wanted to transition to an even lower sensitivity, and the only limiting factor that existed was vertical recoil in certain games (I think it was PubG at the time); That is, if I went any lower I would lose the ability to control gun recoil. This can be a great solution depending on specific limitations

Same case here, always been a high sens user. When I started CSGO I had no knowldge of mice and what not, I rocked 3.04 sens on a default 1200dpi mouse, then shifted to a 800 dpi mouse and then it was finally time to buy my first cheap gaming mouse, with which I shifted to 400DPI because by then I saw most pros use that. Sens stayed the same 3.04. I had a relaxed fingertip/palm kinda grip with all mice, similar to s1mple's grip. I have big hands. I was always a wrist aimer, with shaky aim but the sens allowed me to be a AWP god. Then I bought the g304 which was smaller and narrower than my previous mouse ( it had the deathadder shape ) I was forced to change my grip because my hand used to cramp cause of the smaller mouse. I change to a palm grip and shifted my sens to 2.0 Ever since then I have been so much more consistent and on par with anyone on the server. Averaging 20 frags is so easy now. Requires minimum warmup.

When it LOOKS like i hit the head (because my crosshair is on their head) i hit the body. People tell me aim higher but if i aim any higher i shoot above them. This is my 1 area of flaw in the game at the moment. Im a plat 3 player, and understand the game. My aim doesnt match my skill level and i want to be able to hit my shots. This video was probably the most helpful arm aim guide I've ever seen next to Coach Rambos guides and also I have a question when u play arm do u lift ur arm to avoid it from getting stuck on the table? Or u just rest it on the table and it is what it is😁

@@BTaesthetics Ohh wow u replied so fast and thanks but when u like move ur arm up and down like a big movement how do you avoid it from getting stuck on the table? This is my last question I promise, it's just that I've never seen someone explain it better ur amazing man

I'm sorry to interrupt, so can you tell me what you did to avoid it, I can't avoid my arm stuck in until I raise my elbow, not lightly, and have to maintain it all the time in order to move smoothly at all times. It's too easy to get tired and tense to balance with relaxation. I have height adjustable desk, and I've tried all sorts of sitting high and low, and it doesn't help me. It's been bothering me for so long that I haven't been able to avoid it since I found out and don't even want to play games or practice anymore If you could let me know, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.@@tomasonsynthol8266

the video i was looking for , nice job :) u also got some tips on the rotation of the forearm? should ur wrist be completly horizontal or can it be slightly rotated ?
@BTaesthetics
@BTaesthetics 2 жыл бұрын
rotation depends on your comfort. Do what feels best for you and play around with different angles. I always revert to straight on with no angle and thats what has worked best for me!

I arm aim myself on .35 1600dpi in valorant as low sense kills me. I hit more shots on a higher sens somehow. Video was very insightful especially the elevated wrist part. I never thought about that.

switched from forward palm grip to finger tip grip and not gonna finger tip has sooo much more room for micro corrections compared to palm or claw grip. depending on the games we play our preference will change to wether which grip is better or worse. for me if were to play fortnite i have to go with palm or claw cuz there is soo much fast paced movement finger tip wont make it. for valorant finger tip can be good but since there is not much verticle movement u can make claw/palm grip work but in apex i feel like finger tip is the best imo cuz of the verticle and horizontal movement in that game.

it's not necessary to have that gap underneath, it's just the way they hold the mouse or aim. use arm when swiping from front to back. use wrist for micro adjustment (close enemy). Also, crosshair placement.

I really appreciate the information! As someone who came from PS4, (primarily Playing Overwatch) I am switching between PS4 and PC, I felt so lost on how to properly control a mouse, even though I use one daily (just not for gaming). The console version of Overwatch has Aim assist, which is nice, but I knew years ago that If i developed a dependency on it, It would be very hard to change later on. Thats why I wanted to set the aim assist lower and lower until I eventually Weaned off of it. Im just gonna throw this out here. If anyone would like to play Overwatch sometime, let me know. Im a diamond Support, and palt tank + Open Queue on console. but unfortunately I am maybe a silver at best on PC (havent ranked yet) once again thank you for the video you have helped me get on the right path

I switched from palm grip at 600 eDPI (69.27cm / 360) to fingertip claw hybrid at 800 eDPI (51.95cm / 360). I agree that it's definetly inconsistent, but man when it works I go and smack my Kovaaks scores by like 25% on a good day lmao

with this aim style i guess the slowest pad with most friction is the best. any recommendations for the mouse and pad combo? 19x 10.5 hands. There is also one thing no one is speaking about. Twistzz presses the thumb down on the mouse to create downforce - he is unique in this - because I think Zywoo doesnt do that and has a more relaxed grip - not so much downforce - but Twistzz plants his whole arm on the mouse. For control maybe twistzz style is better (exagerated claw-grip with an option to use downforce to create more control). All these players are top tier and the most relaxed seems to be Zywoo with his effortles grip. I dont think he uses much downforce on the mouse like Twistzzz. Worth a study.

I used to arm aim now mostly just wrist went from 0.243 1600 or like 0.485 800 dpi to exactly double so 0.485 1600 dpi or 0.97 800 dpi. Use the superlight love flicks still like arm aim for massive movements or just wutever feels comfortable at the moment just autopilot for aim yk it just works

Yea I unconsciously did this a few years ago and when I got into trying new mice it made finding the right mouse more annoying since the forward grip makes it harder to comfortably hit the side buttons, something I use a lot for mic mute/pinging in val and ow.

Good video. It's worth saying that is won't work for everyone though. And I think you misspoke your Valorant sens because 2.7 on 800 dpi is REALLLLLLY fast. Either way I think this is a style that's definitely worth trying at least once.

Bro, I see two mistakes you're making. Firstly, you need to be on the edge of the table with about the middle of your forearm, secondly, you need to sit at least 5 cm higher, trust me, then you will have much more freedom of movement

I know this is counterintuitive but here goes: If you are arm aiming, list down THREE sensitivities that will help you compensate if you're overswiping or underswiping. My main sens is .277 at 800 dpi but I also play at .255 and .285. If I'm overswiping, I switch to .255. If I'm underswiping, I switch to .285. This helps me condition my hand/brain for my main sens.
