Thank you for the video with a nice Peter McKinnon intro touch. Just considering going into airbrushing, starting with priming and this has been very helpful

One big tip I learnt early on is always push the trigger for air with the brush pointing away from your mini just in case to get a tiny bit of splatter

Thats a good one. I do that as well. I'm planning on making follow up video for troubleshooting and these kinds of tips.

best way to avoid splatter is maintain the air after stopping the paint to allow the air to push all the excess paint off the nossel

Just got a cordless one called the autolock airbrush and it's dual action gravity fed, this guide is really gonna help with the cleaning and maintenance, the machine allows me to use whatever airbrush I want as long as I get the right attachments, would like to see your opinions on a cordless one

Owning a good ultrasonic cleaner isn’t a bad ideal nether when it come to cleaning a air brush , they can really get into places a vibrate paints lose from your air brush inside that you can’t reach .

@Trident & True Hobbies , does the same principles can be performed using a Airbrush Kit, Titoe Portable Handheld Mini Airbrush Compressor ?

I think my biggest problem is proper maintenance. I've ruined two cheap airbrushes, learned a lot from them but in the end decided to go with spray cans because it seemed to me that for every 1 hour of airbrushing I spent 2 hours maintaining it and cleaning it and trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with the damn thing now haha. Contemplating trying it again though.
@TridentTrueHobbies
@TridentTrueHobbies 3 жыл бұрын
At least you practiced on cheap ones. I am by no means endorsing using expensive airbrushes but as you said proper maintenance can make an airbrush last. Mine lasted 8 years before I bought the exact same one. Now that I've got into the rhythm it only takes 5 mins to clean properly. Try it out!

I’m thinking about just using an airbrush for background larger areas of the canvas.And I may do some t shirt art.What would be the best type of airbrush for that?
@TridentTrueHobbies

That's a little out of my wheel house but I know the one mentioned in the video is meant for canvas.

My problem is that it keeps clogging. Using Vallejo Model Air paints, so it should be diluted enough. But even with adding additional thinner, it's still clogging a lot. So frustrating....

Hey Vito, how much do you thin the Daler Rowney Ink for the zenithal highlight and at what pressure are you operating when doing that? Do you also use that 3,5mm needle for that? Thanks for the video! :)
@TridentTrueHobbies
@TridentTrueHobbies 3 жыл бұрын
It all depends how much ink I put in but its roughly 2:1 ink to thinner as the ink is already thin enough. As for pressure, I am running around 30 psi to 40 but for more detailed work I'd drop it to 20. And yeah its all on the 3.5 needle. Hope this helps!

@@TridentTrueHobbies Thanks a lot for answering, I will give it a try again, had a fee problems with the ink compared to normal white paint, although everybody says that it works better and is more smooth.

so, all things you've talked for the air brush, the air brush itself and compressor, the cleaning equipment you use... how much did it set you back. and what would you advise for a beginner?
@TridentTrueHobbies
@TridentTrueHobbies 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say around 650-to 700 CAD. The great thing about the Iwata is that you can purchase it in a kit. Comes with the airbrush, compressor, cleaning supplies and instructional dvds. In my personal opinion I think its a great bundle.
