I only backspray if I've got cleaning liquid in, otherwise you're just running the risk of having paint muck run back up deep inside the brush via capillary action. Fine if you don't mind giving it a fully disassembly and clean every so often.

Great lookin' result. As long as you don't remove the "end cap", there isn't any danger doing a backwash since the needle can't prick your skin. Hey, ah great, I'm glad you've found it helpful! Personally, I dont unscrew and clean the nozzle everytime, only when I feel it needs it or I've finished a session.. but, its good practice to unscrew and clean the nozzle tip, so keep at it 👌 If you stick a brush load of airbrush cleaner in (in-between colours), you can normally keep it pretty clean. I did a "How to airbrush" video just a few weeks ago, if you haven't seen it. 🙂 And I hope you're enjoying the process, I love it now, its my favourite hobby tool.

I've painted for about 9 or 10 months now after a 36 or 35 year break in the hobby. I only airbrushed model jets and the life back when I was a teenager and I'm 49 now. I think I know what to do but sure I have gaps in my knowledge so I still watch beginner videos. I'm hoping to learn a good way to airbrush inside my tiny man cave w/o getting paint spray everywhere. My PC sits right next to my painting table, don't have room to move it anywhere else. I have a window behind my desk but it's difficult to open due to my deep L shaped desk. Is there a unit that is good to remove airborne spray w/o connecting to the window? Doh, a light box could be that eh? Acrylic paint is pretty harmless from what I've read. Don't need to drink it or smoke it but it's pretty harmless. Unlike the old days of lacquer paints I used to use and the lead miniatures we painted back in the 70s & 80s.
@BroadswordWargaming3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So, you can get extraction boxes that don't have to go to a window. Search for them on amazon, as that'll probably be what you're after. Personally, I dont get much trouble with over spray or particles when in in doors (but im in a well ventilated space). I wouldn't advise doing doing indoors, with no extraction or ventilation for extended periods of time, as you can eventually "taste"/"feel" the particles.. which is probably not good. We have to look after ourselves too 😀

great video and something to push me further towards wanting to buy an airbrush - my main concern is cleaning it. I had a cheap airbrush years ago and it was never the same after I took it apart after the first go to clean it. Looking at videos on youtube for using the vallejo cleaner, they show the brush been taken apart for cleaning rather than just blowing the cleaner through. Any tips?
@BroadswordWargaming3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment. I actually did a "how to" airbrush video just recently if you want to check it out, it does cover some cleaning. 😀 I would normally advise running water and/or cleaner through the brush inbetween different paints, and then giving it a full breakdown at the end of a session. You may also need to clean the tip or needle during a session if the paint has dried.

Hey I’ve recently started airbrushing and I got started using your beginner video but I’m have a lot of problems with paint drying on the tip of my needle, is that because the paint is too thick? Great video btw!!!
@BroadswordWargaming3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks! Oh amazing, glad you found the last one useful. There could be a few reasons as to why it's drying. If it is flowing ok, then it may not be too thick, but otherwise yes. It will always dry up on the end, especially if you're using it for a prolonged period (or started spraying and left it for a few mins before spraying again). Make sure to stick some cleaner in the end, between colours (with a brush), to keep the needle and nozzle clean. Don't fill the cup up too much, or it'll likely clog before you've gotten through all the paint. Could also be low pressure, meaning it isn't pushing through "hard" enough. Hopefully it's one of those reasons. 😀 Keep trying. I think I had a tendancy to over things my paints, which isn't the worst thing to do when starting.

Great Video! OK, don't hate me; "Highlight" is where the light first hits. "Shadow" is where the light hits least. "Lowlight" is a made-up term...even for hair. :0

Can we have a 1 hour video of Ciara dancing like in the intro when you hit 25k subscribers?

Thank you for the nice and funny video. For the Vallejo Primer, Do not use the Airbrush Cleaner as a flow Improver, it will "break"and weaken your paint. Use the flow Improver instead, though you can go with Thinner only if you don't have the improver to add it to the mix. my 2 cents.
