I just looked at some of your other work and now I get it. In other videos you are showing people how to create realistic works of art, so you film the whole process. I’m sure people can improve by watching these videos. But your level of talent is something that is not teachable. 🙂

Thanks for the compliment and the comment. I respectfully disagree with most of it however. There are several skills with airbrushing that can be learned even if you are not artistic or can’t look at something and draw it. I teach several techniques for transferring designs to work surfaces and various masking and stenciling techniques that create nice artwork and designs. If someone will learn the fundamentals of controlling the spray of an airbrush and get their paint to flow properly they can be successful. I would agree that 100% freehand artwork requires the ability to look at something and draw what you see and this skill is something can be more challenging to get good at, but the majority of projects do not need 100% freehand.

Would it be the same process if I wanted a purple metalic pearl on a black surface ?
@airbrushuniversity2 жыл бұрын
Yes it should work especially if you want the flames to be ghosted in appearance. You would need to test and make sure the metallics are fine enough for an airbrush. You should also probably use an airbrush with at least a .5 needle/nozzle.

Are you thinning the Inspire paints?

Yes I usually add a small amount of reducer until the paint does not speckle on the edges of your paint pattern. Each color is a bit different in how much reducer it needs and I add more if I’m going to paint fine details.

Hello what pressure are you running. Sounds high
@airbrushuniversity3 жыл бұрын
Usually around 40psi. Depends on the airbrush type, thickness of paint, and how wide I want my pattern. Also depends on how detailed I need it. Very fine details use thinner paint and less pressure. Thicker paint and wider patterns usually need more pressure to blast them out of the airbrush and atomize thicker paint. I am constantly adjusting pressure throughout my work day depending on these factors and desired result.
