This video just helped me get my Maxi running for the first time since I started working on it 3 months ago. Stripped it completely to sort out the rusty tank and never tried running it until today. Thank you so very much sir.

Been loving these vids! In the midst of building a death trap (hopefully 60+ mph) Maxi right now and a lot of these vids are a big help to do things the right way.

@@Corn-ped Luckily this project bike came with forks/shocks, hydro front disk brake, hutchinson tires on snowflakes, sealed bearings, built and kitted etc. Already looks the part just needs a big ol mikuni and some tuning! Among other things I need to tidy up lol

Thanks for this! I have the old e50 unfortunately so can't get to the clutch unless I split the case. I'll try this alignment method before I get dirty. At the moment I can start the bike with a drill with no cable attached.

Great video dude, you explained how the arm and cam engage the clutch really well. But oh my God I dont understand how you got that final circlip on so easily. Gouged my fingers multiple times (doesnt help that I need to simultaneously push the arm down to clear the ridge) and of course eventually my circlip went flying, no chance in hell ill ever see it again haha, probably will in my nightmares though. I'm gonna order 5 more of those suckers. Funny because right after losing it I realized I could stick a tiny screwdriver under the ridge to lever the arm all the way down so that should make it easier. Any tips on getting that thing on so I dont have another awful moment like this? Lmao
@Corn-ped2 жыл бұрын
I use a little flat head and press it on while protecting it from shooting off with my other hand.
@aidanschmidt87182 жыл бұрын
@@Corn-ped thanks for the reply, I eventually realized that pushing it on from the side is way easier than trying to force it downward over the whole thing, just has to lever the arm down like I said. Appreciate you!

Mines stiff. It does work but very minimal travel. I gently used a wrench like you’ve shown to remove the cable and snapped like Chinese pot medal. Do you think I should remove the whole housing and inspect or just the arm?
@Corn-ped2 жыл бұрын
you dont need to open it up to replace the arm. its stiff like its gunked up? or its stiff like the cable is attached and adjusted really tight?
@vtecbanger31802 жыл бұрын
@@Corn-ped I removed the cable and it’s smooth. The arm moves smooth too. The clutch appears in normal condition. Maybe adjustment?
@Corn-ped2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I bet your cable was just too tight.

Do u have a list of good quality cylinder brands? I am looking for a reliable 50cc kit for my puch maxi
@Corn-ped3 жыл бұрын
Are you specifically looking for 50cc? For stock bikes There are a lot of cylinders and they all have their pros and cons. I like 65-70cc piston port kits because you can reuse the stock intake and bing 14mm. Kits like the Metra 65, Airsal 65, or even Airsal 70 are good for a boost of speed without breaking the bank or needing to upgrade everything else. For a mild build I suggest one of those kits with a 14mm bing and a bullet pipe.
@Khapaleno3 жыл бұрын
@@Corn-ped Thank you, I will go with the Airsal cylinder I think!

Hey so I’m having a problem with getting the starter plate off so when I take out the metal ring that holds it on I can’t get the starter plate off so do you know if I’m doing something wrong or know any tips thanks
@Corn-ped2 жыл бұрын
Yeah... You are doing something wrong or the notches in the bell are worn out and have a little hook. Wiggle the starter plate and it should just pull out. Nothing besides the ring is holding it in.
