As a 2nd year college student who changed his major to biology pre-medical, I learned HEAVILY in science classes that drawing out processes, the math involved, cells, everything makes you retain so unbelievably good. They’re expensive but invest in an iPad, they change your study life

@@laxusaltaf6890 absolutely! My grad school prereqs included Ochem 1 & 2 and I'm currently studying for the MCAT. There's no way I would have survived undergrad and my postbacc years without my iPad. I don't have to hand draw mechanisms as I downloaded a free sticker pack that has chair structures, rings, arrows and line structures. I just trace them or copy and paste. My work is SO much neater and more organized. I upload any worksheets or handouts to my note taking apps and I can do homework and practice problems all electronically. I can export PowerPoint slides, add photos to my notes, voice record the lecture in real time if I get distracted or need to go back and have anything "re explained." It's an investment but I've had mine for over 2 years now and it was 150% worth it.

I'm a third year Economics student and what I've learned so far are; 1. Your highschool history has nothing to do with your current university progress. Don't let your bad highschool grades make you feel like your current university grades will be the same. My math grades were so bad in highschool but now, I've only gotten straight As and A+es in all my math subjects. 2. Do what works for you. Seeing how hard others work can make you feel like you're not doing anything. Some study for six hours straight and your brain just can't keep up with that. Find study methods that work for you and stick to them no matter how other people are studying. And remember, what matters isn't the hours you've studied but what you actually remember/understand. 3. Don't always listen to people who try to scare you that a subject is "too hard" or "so many people fail this course". Just focus on yourself and keep yourself positive even if the subject is genuinely difficult. Don't inherit someone's fear when there are also people who did well in that same subject. 4. Don't panic. Take deep breaths. Drink some tea or something and REST. Resting is also part of staying on top of your game! You need to rejuvenate yourself and do what makes you happy. 5. Affirmations. Be kind to yourself and remember that you're a boss and you've got this (even though it doesn't look that way sometimes)‼️♥️

yr11 (like literally two weeks away from yr12) and i have a tip for improving time management on tests! step one: figure out how much time you have been allocated per mark (ie: i know that for one of my classes, we are given 1.5 minutes per mark) step two: instead of doing entire practice tests/exams under timed conditions, do certain questions under timed conditions, to get used to writing (for example) a 5 marker in 7.5 minutes. once that timer goes off, stop immediately. step three: work out what you got wrong/didn't get down in that question, and work out what (if anything) you wrote that was unneccessary. step four: repeat the question under timed conditions until you are able to do it completely in the allocated time! this a) helps with being able to work faster in tests, and b) gives you a feel for how much time you should be spending on each question in a test.

senior in hs and i so greatly agree w the lowering your standards one. Last year this girl would always be like "if i get below a 90, i fail." and it reminded me of myself in my 9th, 10th, and beginning of 11th grade bc I also had that perfectionist mindset that started to become really damaging and just like you. when I got my first 'low' grade, I felt like I had no idea what to do from then and started to doubt myself a lot. It's such an unhealthy mindset in my opinion, and my psychology teacher has even talked about how it literally sets you up on a path for failure

I'm a freshman in college trying to achieve a psychology major. This really helped me out coming from a perspective of another college student because sometimes I feel like I had tried multiple methods that doesn't really help me out. My college require students a part-time job which drags out student needs and success throughout their academic side but those tips you recommended made me change my perspectives on time management, and focus on different priorities so all I wanted to say is that thank you for your tips and support, I really appreciate your way of reaching people out in case they need any advices for a balance between academic life and your own life as well.

I am in 12th grade and my first semester started pretty well, I was doing well, didn’t need much hours of studies, but as time went by, the more we kept learning, the hardest it was getting for me to understand contents quickly and, the more complicated it was to have good time management. I would always be burned out, did nothing out of my life other than studying, I was sleep deprived, would cry and beg for a week of rest, then my grades started to plummet, I would barely do my assignments, and would laugh at it, I was really letting myself go out of tiredness and hopelessness. Now I stopped school in mid December for a surgery so I won’t do my finals. I am not going back until February and honestly I am trying to build myself back and to get as much tips as possible to deal with my biggest issue ✨Time management✨. Your tips were really helpful and I am very grateful for this video as well. I am trying to gather as much information to create the “perfect routine” or I would say the “attainable routine” to still have my full hours of sleep and yet still do well and do my assignments in advance to not stress last minute. Also about the note taking thank you so much! I’ve always been note taking on a paper and then re-write them on my IPad once I get home but it is so time consuming and actually takes on my sleeping time. So I’ll try to do less notes taking and more listening, although I do listen in class which I think is what helps me mostly in class. Thank you again for these tips and I am looking forward to using them once I got back to school!

I live in PH, btw. I'm a senior in high school, and I couldn't agree more of what you said that, "taking a nap is vv important" looking back to my junior year-self, I always choose to sacrifies my sleep to study all night and to finish my research paper and it was unhealthy to the point almost everyday I went late at school because I sleep for like only 2-3 hours every single day. Anw, tomorrow our final term will finally start and I know that it'll be much harder than my last a.y, since I have to finish my research papers for my chapter 4-5 and lots of revision to do, I also have to prepare for my final defense this december, i think. So, for those seniors out there, we can do this!

3:57 I want to add that writing down your notes ACTUALLY helps but more than ever when you’re writing them down using *active recall* instead of just copying a text from beginning to end. If you don’t engage actively your brain while taking your notes, adding your own thoughts and opinions to what the teachers explain to have it as something that can take you back to when you learned, how do you expect your brain to understand and retain it for an exam?

I use writing to memorize stuff, forcing myself to remember what was teached to me and then writing it down, marking the parts I got it wrong and then erasing it and writing it again, like that for a lot of times, it helps memorize everything I swear to godddd

10th Grade/Year 11, GCSE year Personal Tip: Find study time intervals that personally suit you the best. Personally, Pomodoro technique doesn't really work for me since in 1 Pomodoro (25m) , I'd get minimal work done, mainly because I write considerably slow lmao. Once you find YOUR personal study/break interval period, you'll be good to go. Also I'd recommend getting snacks whilst studying, for that energy/mood boost. Roasted almonds/berries have been a game changer for me.

Same Bruv i literally write really slow to like even if i dedicate first 25 min solely for studying maths i I always end up only solving 3-4 maths problems and that really sucks cuz its like studying takes up whole day for me and i I don't get time to do anything and at the end of the day i literally just think i didn't do anything productive all day

great tips, i do have to chime in and say that getting snacks while studying can be dangerous too bc i used to just snack instead of study 😭 so just be careful everyone 😩

This is true 😂, feeling full from snacking makes you sleepy/fatigued, though I try to get light, refreshing snacks that'll keep me satiated like berries, rather than sickly full. But yea, in the end of the day anything in excess isn't healthy, so moderation is key!

What I find helps for me is rewards. I have a thing of M&M's an, say I study 3 units that day, I eat an M&M after every unit studied. It gives me motivation and helps me want to do something and to do it right because I want to get everything down before I eat that M&M so it doesn't feel like cheating. Maybe this can help some of you, maybe this is just my brain being weird, but I hope it can help!

Hi! I'm in my senior year of high school! I had average grades throughout high school but I always left things to the last minute. As an athlete-student I'm trying to find better ways to study and manage my time to have a more worry free examen week and school life in general.

i’m in middle school and I like to watch these because I think it’s important to start habits related to learning early c: thanks for you content 😁 edit: about the handwriting the work again yourself tip, I think it depends on who you are because that works a lot for me as I have to recall the information to be able to write it down (because I don’t directly copy) and (if i write the wrong thing THEN i’ll look at the notes and fix them) :D

year 9 high school student-in assessments work out how much time u need. so if i had to write 2 paragraphs and answer 10 multiple answer questions-and i had 30 minutes to do it; decide how much time you need to spend on each activity. i’m pretty quick a the multiple choice questions-so i spend 10-15 mins for them and then the rest of the time on the paragraphs. it’s different for everyone xx

I'm yr12 but in Germany. Sometimes what we do here would qualify as uni level in other countries and since I only arrived in the country less than 4 years ago, I'm still struggling a lot with german (other subjects are fine or even really good most of the time). My tip would be that if a subject requires just too much energy and time and your grades do not necessarily improve than just do the bare minimum to at least pass. You can use your time on improving other subjects in which you have difficulties but know you can actually improve. Don't feel bad about it. I used to feel really bad about german and study for hours for it. At some point I stopped caring and my grades didn't even really drop (I was really just wasting my time) but other subjects got a lot better :)

I have horrible focus and motivation issues. I’ve recently gotten tested for ADHD, but my results haven’t come in yet, so I can’t really say for sure if I have it. I just started highschool about 2 months ago and schoolwork has been harder than ever. I’ve always had trouble maintaining grades since around late elementary; I think that’s when I got my first D. But things have just progressed to be worse over time. I can manage to bring my gpa to at least a 3.0, but the I get unreasonably burned out super fast, and it drops down to a 2.0 or 1.0 average. This is especially hard to let happen when my parents are on the stricter side, and not necessarily the best parents out there. I’m trying to work up for a job so I can save up money to move out soon; but I can’t really do that with low grades, lack of focus, motivation, and intense burnout. What people confuse is they think I just don’t care about my grades or important tasks- I care too much about them- it’s just all so hard trying to prioritize all of them, especially when it takes me hours to complete one task. Im watching this video to maybe get some useful tips to help me out, so thank you so much for uploading this!
