Thanks for this- I am too new and too early on in the game to take full advantage of what you showed. I am just now entering H2 - I scouted for intel and am trying to knife people that are alone and on the outskirts. I remembered watching someone's tips and tricks and they said to use overwatch. Good video but I need to find something that caters to the noob in the beginning of the game.

The easiest tactic is to use time - and get those Kar98 from the graveyard, repair them and use three snipers. this is still OP.

Ambush, Overwatch? One word only : Überraschung! Best perk in the game IF Buns is here to witness me Grunty's success every time (he's a secret night-operative sniper) Also Uberaschung doesn't fail the infiltration going on. Best thing to rely on with a good extended/suppressed M-14.

@@chr_isso Great pick! That's pretty much my main team since 1.13's inception, with the exception of Donna Houston, but that's OK, for Buns and her hate each other (Spider being Fox's BFF). Though No, no, BUNS intended as you know, and as far as you're concerned all spitting in glitch in me "rainbow 6" company, here : Go for heat bruh, you won't regret it. Also yeah, Grunty, a natural sniper skilled with heavy weapons speciality AND night-ops (also a natural, as suggested by his dossier) is really good for flashbangs field control and the like. Also, have Barry throw those flash sticks with extreme precision for him before taking that overwatch next so as to suggest Igor take a sip of vodka before progressing his knife's weight to the next turn's narrative: for that's what he does. Also very well known for that, me Grunty is awesome in terms of rate of failure at ANYTHING, as long as seine liebche is hear to watch (Buns in ten dead, I'm calling it so you definitely don't have two.) And I'm not even mentionning Ivan who's kind of too expensive for early game, here. The dream spec-ops team of your dreams, pretty much (and yes, you counted right, there are 3 potential snipers in there, provided your IMP reaches those 85 Dex/marksmanship before the start.

Looks effective but a little bit too risky IMO.. .im playing with rato's mod and i don't know if OW its effective tbh.. .the game becomes too punishing to leave a soldier "open" with no cover just to get the hit.. .have you tried the mod ?? i installed it after 1 hour playing vainilla and i never went back after it x) ! it adds so much difficulty and depth to the gameplay ! challenging & fun af tbh.. .it took me like 15 hours to learn it and finish the first island lol xd

nah, but I'm sure I'll look into mods some day. This video was made when game was fresh so .. it was all vanilla! Usually you're right and overwatch was little bit bugged, especially with Machine Guns.

How did you get those weapons at the early part of the game?

My personal favourite is to use gas Mortar and or mustard gas. Have high agility mercs with gas masks and shotguns/machetes. The gas causes choking and makes hitting your mercs into grazing hits (anyone in the gas fog). It's fun as fuck and aesthetically pleasing.

haha that was one of my favourite ways to play JA2. Didn't make much use of the gas grenades in JA3 tbh, but i loved Barrys explosives! Are your own shots grazing hits as well?

@chr_isso yeah it's a double edged sword but you can cheese the graze with accurate explosives. Pretty sure point blank is still likely to hit but it's a great cover + damage strategy. Only way I could clear the Santiago bunker without anyone dying

Can´t do any of that, have an iron man game going and a failed stealth attempt is really bad, I usually only use ranged stealth where I can provide overwatch in case things go sour.

yeah, then you're an experienced player and you already know what to do and what to avoid :) How is your ironman going so far?

@@chr_isso It´s going okay, a few close calls mainly due to stupidity and not understanding the terrain. Cover system is a bit messed up at times visibility wise.

I’ve been setting all my troops up in overwatch before I ever start the engagement. Having a having a heavy mg gunner to hit everything they run through makes it easy mode. I’ve taken out 6 guys in a row just as they ran through a heavy mg overwatch. Just make sure to have plenty of ammo =/

You shouldn't line up mercs to shoot, it's not X-Com. Only good shoots should shoot. And teachers should teach, and also bombermen should fail the A-team in order to produce MORE ammo. Meaning Barry's special isn't THAT good anymore, for example.

@@manymustfall Teacher don't exist to teach how to play. Also I don't understand your nonsensical comment, if sense has anything to do with it. What I'm saying is, if your a teacher, better be one with actual stats they can teach to others mercs. Hence Wolf being a very bad teacher, beyond health (Even Grizzly teaches strength better than him). But a good militia trainer, that Wolf is, (33% reduce). A Jack-of-all-trades, basically. So he can repair, explode, but not the best to teach. Far from it. 10% teaching buff is good for training militia, not other mercs, for mathematical reasons. (still applies 10% to miltia training even with Wolf's reduce taken into account, which is a good thing.) Barry, who is not a teacher, still manages to ramp my IMP up 25 points in explosives in a single session, just so she gets able to throw those shine sticks to progress Grunty's knightly narrative alongside Buns. >> Grunty's a secret night ops, sniper/bombardier. Also, Buns has a secret godbelief perk. So it's just as if she had it, don't undig corpses in front of her, Barry, or Omryn. Last but not least, Fox should be the main medic early game, not MD. She is SO better than MD because of her modifier main stat that is 100. (Those skills on the right columns only being buffs applied to the main stat roll for assertive tasks, they're not main stats as in the left column, they're skill check buffs.) Also, I almost forgot to ask, what in everything I said can you show me that is not making sense? I'm curious to know? Unless there's something wrong with your comment in the first place, obviously. I can't say for sure, though, as I haven't been able to interpret its deeper meaning, as far as the game is concerned: my experience with it, as a matter of act I'm in too say.

I feel like you're playing the game on a different language and then is trying to explain game terms in English. I mean, I get the struggle in trying to find the right words for the things you want to convey since I am also a non-native English speaker. The teachers should teach part I misunderstood, and only realized what you meant when started talking about training militia and teaching other mercs. The video nor the comment you were replying to had nothing to do with both so it made no sense to me before.
