Just to offer a few tweaks to the main theme. (Y)our customers/clients use our system to obtain certain outcomes (product or service). The system consists of multiple process layers that intelligently cooperate/collaborate towards the promised outcome. So the part of the talk at 06:25 about multiple business users + handoffs is the secret sauce that creates the right business structure that is based on different process layers vs "business users". Do not get confused with "who is doing what". It is a process layer that is doing the what (a process layer could consists of multiple instances running in parallel or phased: imagine a yarn(s), a strand(s) or a rope(s), or any combination). By indentifying multiple process layers we keep complexity at bay and business rules become easier to manage and close at hand (tailored either to a process layer and/or tailored to a client), so risks go down, whilst agility goes up. Each process layer acts as a pilot's cockpit, so if you sit in that cockpit you are the pilot of that process layer. (Once we learn to drive a car we can normally drive different makes and models easily :). Multiskilling is great, isn't it?) By thinking in terms of pilots' cockpits there is a win-win situation (for both pilots/business): new pilots learn faster and their expertise/satisfaction/rewards go up. In such always ready and caring context it is much more likely that pilots will exercise good care, become multi-skilled, use new insights and strong connections to drive new improvements. In summary, pilots gain professional freedom and businesses sustains success. Both feel relevant and wanted.

Hi Could you please let me know the difference between Business Process Model and BRD? Can the two terms be used interchangeably?
@BridgingtheGapBA5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nazneed, These are very different documents. A business process model is what is described in this video. BRD stands for Business Requirements Document, and is usually a long document describing all the business requirements (sometimes more) of a project.

Hello Mam, I have a confusion. What you told in this video is related to some extent what you told in the business analyst 8 step framework video or it is different from that? Please clear.
@BridgingtheGapBA3 жыл бұрын
This video is about analyzing a process that the business users complete. The video you are mentioning is about the process a business analyst executes on a typical project, which is also a business process.

@BridgingtheGapBA6 жыл бұрын
@@louischristiandongmonguepi6249 In this scenario, I would still to the main steps of the process, and focus on the desired outcome for each process you document. Most likely, a lot of the specifics will change as you move from one system to another.
