How to animate a rolling cube in Blender

Hello, I'm trying to replicate this rolling effect but I keep on struggling when it comes to the 'Child Of' section (1:22). Whenever I select 'P1' as the parent, the 'cube' does not lock on at the edge, rather it teleports itself so that 'P1' is at the center of the 'cube.' I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, could you help me out? Thnx

I found out what the problem was. I was using an outdated model of blender. When I updated the software it works perfectly!

Would there be any way to do it so i dont have to make a new empty for every step, and what if i want it to roll in a different direction, it would be more convenient to only have to make 4 empties

This method is limited to do that but there is tutorial from default cube channel for doing this with Geometry Nodes.
