How to apply any custom shoes to metahuman in Unreal Engine in minutes(KR Sub)

In this tutorial, we will learn how to easily swap out shoes on a MetaHuman.
While other similar tutorial videos use a shoe mesh to transfer vertex groups, this video uses the MetaHuman body itself.
When using shoe meshes, transfers sometimes don't work properly if the custom shoes are larger or taller than the base shoes, so I use MetaHuman bodies to avoid size or height limits.
However, using a body to create a custom shoe brings all of the weightpaint values from the MetaHuman body with it, which can be a hassle if you need to make modifications later. I prefer to use this method in this video because I never have to go back and modify the weight values.
*If you want to use shoe meshes (I recommend boots rather than sneakers) instead of mh body to optimise vertex groups, you can do so by setting the Data Transfer Source to Shoes rather than Body.

Thank you for you knowledge. It's great and perfect. If you have an opportunity..could you help with heels?)) I suppose it's (maybe) the same as here..or (maybe) not. Maybe we need to make a special pose for Metahuman's foot

I may be able to do that by using anim sq or set rest pose in blender but I don't usually use heels so I don't see clear vision at the moment. I will share when I get clean workflow. thanks for your support btw. why don't you just select metahuman with heels from meatahuman creator?

I have another small problem, I put the animation on my metahuman, the shoes are perfect but as soon as the animation starts my mustaches detach from the body, as if they were not connected, I don't want to delete them, what can I do?

this issue doesn't related to custom shoes. I haven't met this issue when I use mustache metahuman. I'm not sure about the issue you're having, but perhaps 'deactivate' the physics simulation of mustache might work.

Question... can i still do this even after finishing up with the animations? i followed up ur other vids and transfered mixamo anim to metahuman, did an anim seq in unreal. however i have flipflops on my character and i feel like its ruining the outfit i created lmao, but im scared that changing with the skeleton will remove or mess up the already made animations.

lovely :) Technically, that's correct. However, for hard accessories like sunglasses, ear rings, and hats that don't really need weight painting, there are ways to handle that within Unreal Engine. I'll share that later. @@Luneo_Moon

For high heels, I think you should use high heel mesh from UE for transferring data in blender.(instead of my body) and use female body which wears heels.

I'm close to the end, I imported my metahuman with custom shoes on unreal engine 5 but unfortunately the body received some damage, I followed everything to the letter but my metahuman's body has problems with the bones, everything is strange, the shoes are perfect, help!

when i import the custom shoes & root (in unique 3d model file) ue5 tell me that : FAILED TO MERGE BONES: This could happpen if significant hieraricchical changes have been made e.g inserting a done between nodes. Would u like to regenerate the skeleton from this mesh? *** WARNING: THIS MAY INVALIDATE OR REQUIRE RECOMPRESSION OF ANIMATION DATA.*** Help me, i'm going crazy lol

i've solved the issue, i need to rename root name on blender, the name was root.001 so that was the problem, thank u, now i'm moving to next video, animate model with clothes, i hope that it will be easier, thank u so much quirk!

Please help!! I made the shoes and they are good. I animated the metahuman and in the sequence viewport everything is fine but when I render it the shoes disappear when the foot is very bent downwards. When it is noy the shoes are back to normal. I used the transfer data from the body but not the shoes since it didnt work for me. Could you pleeease help me :(((

oh it has nothing to do with the ankle bending. even is in the animation the metahuman is idle it disappears

I honestly have no idea at the moment because i never had that issue. the reason could be occured by skining(weight painting) or material(textures), etc. if you think it's about data transfer, you can test it with basic shoes from metahuman, not 'body'. If anyone knows anything about this, please leave a comment, or if you've solved it, please leave your method, so we can help others who are experiencing the same thing.

you must use metahuman with heels when you create metahuman or One way to do this is to import the animation with the heel applied into Blender together and adjust the heel to match the heel height.

how i can create mine metahuman but without shoes? i see that u have barefoot version of your methauman from te start of the video. I can't create it barefoot directly in metahuman creator, right?

hello universe. barefoot is the one I just named. you can make barefoot one in metahuman creator. Here's steps to make barefoot versiion of mh. 1. [UE]: go to quixel bridge and select your metahuman then click to access mhc. 2. [Metahuman Creator] duplicate your metahuman then name it whatever you want(such as barefoot). 3. [Metahuman Creator] Go to shoes tab then disable your shoes. 4. [UE] go to quixel bridge and find there's duplicated your mh then add to your project.

I see that you have already removed them in the video, I'm trying in every way trying to change the meshes in the "feet" section of my metahuman but I'm only encountering various graphic problems, I'll follow all your other videos tomorrow because my goal is to create a cinematic for a visual music video with my metahuman with custom shoes and clothes animated in a dark setting, speaking of this even if it is not inherent to this video, I can import clo3d's free assets also on marvelousdesigner ? 안녕하세요. 댓글 감사합니다. 현재 계획에는 없지만 참고하겠습니다. 메타휴먼 여성 신발 중에 힐이 있는 것으로 기억하는데 그것으로 테스트를 해보시면 될 것 같습니다. 만약 커스텀 하이힐이 메타휴먼 기본 힐의 높이와 다를 경우에는 추가적인 작업이 필요할 것 같은데요. 새로운 하이힐에 맞춰 메타휴먼 여성 바디 뒷꿈치(힐높이)의 위치/각도를 조정한 뒤 조정된 여성바디 상태를 기본포즈를 다시 만들고 언리얼로 다시 가져와서 사용하시는 것이 좋으실 것 같네요.
