Excellent. When I did this in November 2020, the last question was about "saving" the application instead of a Declaration and to Submit it. This confused me as it did not make sense. The application evaporated instead of being submitted and I had to start over.

HI Stuart, I'm helping my mum with her application (PIP is currently at appeal) so applying on ground of her Dsyphysia following a brain tumour and TIA. The section I am having trouble with -perhaps because of the way it is worded is this one: They find it difficult or impossible to control their actions and lack awareness of the impact they could have on others. Could you give me some pointers as to what the question is asking for please? Many thanks

Hi Charlie, thanks for getting in touch. With this question it is very much about a person's behaviour while out in public. A common example might be that while a Carer is getting out of a car with a Person Living with Dementia, that person might move off and start speaking to someone inappropriately while the carer is trying to pay for the parking and so they need to be supervised and would therefore be benefited and safer by having a blue badge.

what if you have dyslexia and asthma does this apply?

Dyslexia, no. Asthma, only if it affects how far you can walk.

Calling foul here!, this is unfair to attendance allowance receivers that are deaf. What hearing people don't appreciate is that hearing aids give the wearer sound but not where it's coming from. All sounds come into the hearing aid at the same level and time, often the wearer will be alerted to a car directly behind them by the warmth of the engine on the back of their legs, or a rude sign from its driver on passing. Negotiating a public car park can cause the deaf great stress and anxiety with or without hearing aids, they know they are in danger while walking to the meter, and a few misplaced steps could be hazardous for vehicles that have to avoid them. For the good of all concerned the deaf should spend no time walking to and from a payment meter.
