No need to hesitate. Just follow the instruction on the label, and if you bought the quart size that hooks up to the hose, just be aware that it empties fast!

Man, I love the convenience of the hydretain hose end sprayer but it comes out so fast. My first time applying it, I ended up using the entire 32 oz hose end sprayer bottle on 2000 sq ft 😅🤣

It's been so dry here in Utah this year. All my neighbors lawns are stressed yellow. I'm going to apply some Humic and hydratain soon. I've applied lawn dye to my front yard just to keep it looking green. Trying to only water 20ish minutes 4 times a week.

They are completely different technologies. Wetting agent with iron fertilizer versus hydgroscopic humectant technology to condense humidity in the soil into droplets of water.

I had a problem with granular - No spreader settings for Scotts DLX Edgeguard were on the label. Contacted Hydretain directly, no response. Used way more than my application was supposed to be. I'll try the liquid next time.

Am I doing my math wrong? Or based on the recommended minimum dilution of 15:1 are you only able to put 2oz of hydretain in to the quart bottle which doesnt even get you to 1000 sq ft

Jimmy, you forgot to add that those that choose to use the granular version should water that in within 2-3 days so that could be spread before a storm and then let the rain water it in for you. For those that do not have an irrigation system that might be a better option for you. Otherwise, you'll have to move your sprinklers around.

It has to be applied to wet soil, so do you have to water before or if using a hose end sprayer is that good enough since you’re technically watering at the same time as application?

Never too late to apply. I apply monthly during summer months. Follow instructions - apply to damp soil and water in.

Just a little bit to dilute and make for easier flow. You can see about how full I had the bottle when I started spraying. Nothing specific. Just need to get the 6oz of product across that 2k sf area.

With 22,000 sq ft, it’s just not financially feasible for me. Just too expensive. With a well system, I’m just going to have to water more aggressively for the next two months. Fingers crossed 🤞.

Honestly, your better off just watering a ton since you have a well. Using this product didn't do much for my yard at all & won't be buying it again. I used this and a stress root product (both recommend by The Lawncare nut) and my lawn is dormant in a lot of areas. I dunno I wasn't impressed at all.

My question or challenge is how to apply to 1+ acre of cool season grass. My first application required 2 gallons of hydretain which I mixed and sprayed from a 31 gallon tank sprayer with 3 fills = 100 gallons and then about 1 hour to apply at 2-3 mph over my entire lawn. Since it has to be applied to wet soil and watered in right away so it won’t dry on the grass blades. The only way I can apply is when it’s already raining which isn’t ideal? Anybody have a better way. Would like to see the LCN and others address larger lawns and best practices in their promotional / educational content. You would sell more stuff and in larger volume. Just saying!

Hey Rich. Thanks for your comment. For larger areas as big as yours I would go for the granular product. You can get it applied faster and can then water it in afterwards.

Wasn't impressed with this product at all. Most of my lawn by the curb still went dormant. Don't believe the 50% less watering, more like 5% if at all.
