I bought my son his jacket but bought it late off Amazon becsuse on the school sites it was expensive and I didn't see paying that much if I could get the same one for cheaper. So now I need to get the letters on and to get it done its just crazy price. So here I am. Thank you for sharing.

They are horribly expensive. I hope you can save some money doing it yourself! Good luck!

Very good video. I just wanted to mention that the jacket I just worked on had a seam inside the sleeve linings that was designed to open up so that we don't have to open up the seams on the outside sleeve. Unfortunately, because I was following these directions I didn't notice it on time to use it! Also, some newer jackets have a zip-out lining to also help get the linings out of the way for the body of the jacket.

Hi Faviola, YES, I have seen some of those jackets...so so nice when they have access to the sleeve. I have yet to have one of those come in here...but, I have seen them and it sure would be nice if they were all manufactured that way.

Doing as well as can be expected in a shut down state. However, I'm hoping things will continue to get better and pick-up in the new year. I hope all is well with you and your family.

As a British person who LOVES Letternab Varsity Jackets but doesn't know where to buy one, nice video haha. Wish I owned one :(

They are very easy to come by in the states. I'm not sure what it would cost for international shipping and who knows how long they would take to even receive in todays craziness. Thank you for watching!

Super dry sells “Varsity Bomber Jackets” here in the US, I’m pretty sure they have them in the EU, and it’s completely blank so I you could customize it if you want.

eBay bro, that’s where I get my varsity jackets. Real American high school ones as well.

You sew thru lining too?

Can you tell me what type of straight pins you use on leather?
@Pookyandbell2 жыл бұрын
I’ve used quilting pins and just general sewing pins. I find the longest ones and the stiffest work the best…The quilting pins are tad too flexible for this type of project.

Is it possible to remove patches from the jacket?
@Pookyandbell2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can definitely remove the patches. However, if you are removing the patch from leather or vinyl there will be holes that will be left in the material.
@gamewithtavo1012 жыл бұрын
@@Pookyandbell is there anything you can use to cover the holes?
@Pookyandbell2 жыл бұрын
@@gamewithtavo101 you can put another patch the same size or bigger…but other than that there isn’t a way that I know of too remove holes from leather or vinyl.

So you don’t open the jacket side seams to apply patches to the front and back of the jacket?

What kind of power did you machine have? Can this be done on a non-professional, regular in-home Singer?
@Pookyandbell Жыл бұрын
I am using an industrial leather machine or my regular industrial sewing machine. I have a Pfaff 3.5 Expression as well and I would not attempt to sew patches on a leather letterman jacket with that machine. It would really struggle to pull the heavy material of the leather and quilted lining through...where my industrial machines have a walking foot. You can always try and it and see if you can make it work...but, if it were me...I would probably hand stitch them on vs using a smaller "home" machine...to keep from damaging the jacket/leather and/or the machine itself.

I use my domestic Janome 15000 machine with a #16 needle and it did just fine

What kind of sticky tape?
@Pookyandbell Жыл бұрын
Any double sided tape will do. It doesn’t hold it on very strong…But if you are gentle with it, it will help keep the patch in the proper alignment.
