00:00 Introduction
As we’ve said numerous times, the true menswear aficionado seeks not only to build a robust wardrobe but also to keep it well-maintained. This means using the proper laundering techniques, removing stains whenever they first occur, making the most of his closet space, and more.
01:17 What is Pilling?
Pilling normally happens on the parts of clothing that see the most wear and tear day to day, such as the collar and cuffs of shirts and sweaters, as well as under the arms, and around the thighs and the rear on trousers.
What Should You Do When Your Clothes Pill?
04:53 Pill Prevention
Fortunately, there are a number of different strategies that you can use to prevent your clothing from pilling in the first place.
05:39 Laundry Techniques
Keep in mind that when you are washing any pills that are present on a garment can agitate other clothing fibers causing more loose ends and more pilling overall. It’s something of a snowball effect.
9:05 General Wear-and-Tear Tips
11:04 Pill Removal
Fortunately, there are several tools available for removing pills from your clothing, and perhaps, the safest bet among these is a sweater comb.
So that’s the low down on why pilling happens and how you can prevent it and remove pills from your clothing. Hopefully, when you see these little fuzz balls, it won’t be such a hard pill to swallow in the future.

An added note for those who wear synthetic fabrics is that sun exposure will damage the fibers over time as well and cause pilling.

Hi GG Team, Entertaining and Informing as always. I wanted to propose a content idea. I’ve recently acquired a copy of Emily Post’s Etiquette and I am enthralled. The guidelines of gentlemanly behavior are so apparent yet so nuanced. I think a series of videos going through each section of the book would be very well received - providing commentary, exceptions, anecdotes. There are etiquette videos on the channel, but this book is universal and goes incredibly in depth. Cheers and thank you as always

using a cheap shaving rasor is actually a thing I did during my military service. we'd shave our barretes in order to remove the fuzz (and thus, the bulk they create). we'd actually joke around that those who dont shave their barretes have a "cat" on their shoulder/head, since they were so fuzzy and bulky it looked like an animal from a distance XD

Spectator shoes were popularized in the 30's, but got their namesake from spectators, and especially referees, of sporting events. Spectator shoes are less formal than a derby and more formal than monk straps. They're best worn with informal suits, although I have seen black spectators worn at maximum with stroller suits in 30's illustrations (and done so myself). Keep to classic styles of brown/black and white leather. Pair your belt to the non-white leather. Make sure your outfit is subtle enough to accomodate louder shoes like these. Lastly, shining them professionally might be best if you're unsure about your own ability to polish two-tone shoes.

I don't think we'll see it any time soon. Frock coats were done away by Edward VIII in the 30's. While you may see them once in a very rare while for some traditional ceremony, they're not really seen in practical settings such as the Royal Ascot Derby or traditional English weddings, which are practically the only times a man will wear morning dress anymore.
