I agree 100% to add rose hip seed oil to foundation before applying. I have been doing this for awhile and it makes such a difference in the appearance. I also add one squirt of setting spray to the foundation/oil combo and mix well before applying to my skin. It helps the foundation last longer. I love your tips and tricks and also your awesome sense of humor. The “dab count” was funny!

How did I miss this Video Bobbie?🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️. So glad I’m going thru your previous videos and finding exactly what I needed. So thank you so much as I just watched your boos and yahoos video (9-3-23). And asked you a few questions in which you’ve pretty munched answered in this video. Do you wear a face primer, or use your SPF as one? Anywho, I am adding a drop of Ayurveda Experience Youth Moisturizing Face Oil to my foundation/ serum tinte. I need to try Physicians Formula Butter powder. I do like Elf HD Setting/ Finishing Powder, but most days I do not, I just use a setting spray( hydrating one). Great tips for makeup application for dry, dry skin. Going to look for a GRWM tutorial for mature dry skin. Have a Blessed Sabbath and Labor Day Weekend

Fantastic video… I have 4 foundation brushes and I can not remember when I used them last, a damp sponge is my best friend… I starting using unrefined raw coconut oil about 4 months ago to cleanse my skin on the days I do not use a facial scrub which is once or twice a week and my skin has never been more beautiful and moisturized. It has helped my lashes grow as well and my skin is beautiful soft and velvety… I do shave once a month and even thou I hate doing it, it’s really a game changer… God Bless 💜🇨🇦💜

I use a foundation brush to apply my tinted mineral sunscreen. I lightly tap the sunscreen onto my face and blend. I prefer using this instead of a sponge. I exfoliate my skin every week with a Konjac sponge, the sponge is very soft, it doesn't irritate my skin. Take care everyone 🏖 🍉🍓🍦

I was taught to stipple with a brush when applying foundation. But, some foundations work great with a sponge. I do LOVE the Stans Out sponge. (I wish it wasn’t $20.). I am surprised you went from bronzer to your face. I always dab on the back of my hand. Lol 😂 it’s so cool to hear other people’s makeup preferences. I enjoy it so much! Btw, I use Sugar Rush - Best Bud Lip Butter Balm for overnight hydration) The peony one is clear and has a slight sweet scent (very slight) - During the day I use Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm and it has helped the lines around my lips show up! ( I’m 51 and they were fading away)

Your Dab count was so funny ! Thanks for the laugh !! I have a beauty question, I have very think eyebrows that are beginning to gray. What is the best product to use for covering the gray hair ? I have been plucking those out but I know I need to stop doing that ! Thank you Bobbie ! 💖💖💖💖

@lisaharr1477. I have the same scenario. I started using Benefit Gimme Brow Tinted eyebrow gel. I make sure I have as little as possible product on the tiny wand and run it over the grays that are invading the head of my brows. At some time in the future I may face coloring or tinting them as more gray invades, but Gimme Brow is doing the trick for me now.

Hhi Bobbie I have eczema and rosacea, plus I'm fully menopausal and dry dry dry. I use a ton of skincare and an spf every day, but makeup can still be a bit challenging being so dry. Concealer is the worst however and I have never found a concealer I love that doesn't need help - including some very high end/hyped ones. I do my undereye differently from yourself and if your way isn't working for someone, then mine might. I use my several layers of skincare and then spf as normal (leaving to settle for 20 mins to allow the spf to form it's film properly), but just before I start my makeup I apply another decent layer of eye cream. I do my eye makeup, then my foundation and blush before going to the undereye. At this stage most of the eyecream has now sunk in and my corrector/concealer blends in far better and seals that moisture in. Most makeup nowadays contain silicones and that silicone helps to trap moisture in the skin (hence why most oil free moisturisers contain some form of silicone). I rarely need to set the small amount I use as I only really need it in the inner corner/tear trough, but if I do then I use a tiny amount of the Hourglass ambient lighting powder which is super finely milled. I find eye primers can be a bit drying - they're designed to stop oils breaking up your eyeshadow after all. Mixing that or using it under the eye would therefore be too drying for my undereyes, but we're all different. I can see that it will help the wear of the concealer/corrector and perhaps smooth things a bit though. Otherwise I use a sponge or my fingers to apply my face makeup and on the extra dry areas I apply the Bobbi Brown vitamin face base (or the REvolution superbase dupe) as a primer over my spf and under my foundation - that also really helps it not be dry over the course of the day. I find if I don't use maximum moisture my skin will suck the makeup into my pores, as it tries to suck every vestige of moisture from the makeup itself - not a good look. Best wishes.

I have been on Tretinoin for 3 or 4 years now and STILL have not been able to move in strength. My Agency provider actually lowered my dosage as well, due to excess flakies. You would think my skin would adjust to Tretinoin. Especially since i have been on it so long!

@MindfulMidlife

I don’t like applying the foundation with the StansOut sponge. I think I have to work harder to get a good finish. Instead, it’s my “finisher” that make everything smooth.

@@MindfulMidlife Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the StansOut sponge to smooth things out is doing what the Beauty Blender sponge does. I was curious what the benefit would have been for me since I already use a sponge. Glad to know I likely wouldn’t need one. Have a great day! 😊

We focus so much on make up, but we really to find a magic potion for our skin amidst our skin care to help us ageing women with well hydrated uniform textured healthy skin. Ideally of this occurred, then the make up industry would go bust. I just resort to lightly using Cerave for eczema. Goes a long way ultimately being economical. I just hope the price of Cerave doesn't go up anymore 😒

Thank you for these tips. Do you use these skincare products from Agency during a flare up as well? I once had a horrible food allergy and my lips became super dry and dark. My lips looked as if they had been burned. I would peel the dry layer off and within fifteen minutes my lips would look burned again. We tried everything on my lips and nothing worked. I was so discouraged because I really thought that I was going to have to live like this without any remedy. My lips did not hurt but it was embarrassing, very embarrassing if I am going to be honest. Trying to wear lipstick to cover up the darkness only made it worse. Well, after two weeks of this I finally prayed and asked God to help me (something I should have done from the beginning) because everything that we tried including exfoliating my lips just did not work. I went to Ulta and I just began looking at lip products. I saw the Burt Bees Intensive Overnight Lip Mask and I grabbed it. I had never used anything from the brand before but everything within me said this is my answer to my problem. I got home and applied it to my lips and by the time I got ready to go to beds hours later we saw a difference with my lips. By the next morning all, not some, but all of the dryness was gone and my lips were back to normal. We could not believe it. I know that this is a long comment but whenever I see someone show this product on their channel I must give my testimony about how well it worked for me🙂💜

Yes, I do! My skin has acclimated to it now so it doesn’t really change. If I feel like I’m particularly dry, I may skip a night of the future formula or moisturize first then use the future formula. I’ll follow up with the oil as my last step. Wow, that’s amazing it helped your lips so much. It really is the best I have found so far.

as an IT director and mom, my monings have to be super efficient, and my face prep absolutely minimal. I use either Olay completedaiy moisturizing lotion which hs SPF followed by a powder foundation or a cream/liquid foundation that has sunscreen in it such as loreal age perfect (spf 50) in summer or revlon photoready stick foundation w/spf 28.

If I have to get ready faster, I’ll use CeraVe PM. It’s a thinner consistency. But…it’s also not as hydrating. You also may try getting your skincare done as soon as you get up, then get dressed, eat breakfast, etc, then start makeup.
