Hey Didhi! I am actually on my STUDY PERMIT at the moment. It will expire exactly on the 25th of September 2024. I will be done with my masters around the first week of May 2024. Is it possible for me to go home between these months? Should I apply for a work permit and then go home? or do I need to wait for the work permit to arrive in hand and then go home? Do I still need to apply for a TRV to come back?? I am very confused didhi and I don't know how to proceed with this.

U can travel. Just make sure u apply for work permit within 60 days of graduating. As long as you have a visa on your passport which isn’t expired you should be fine. Just make sure to return before it expires

Hlo i have sended my passport on december 15 and it delivered there on december 20 Temporary Resident Visa Section CPC-Ottawa (e-Application) PO Box 9640 Ottawa, Ontario K1G 6T2 But recevier name is showing sci kone not a ircc .is it on right place where it delivered and still is no update when iam tracking a small Envelope

The address is correct. Not sure why it says that name. Wait for a week and see because it was the holiday time so that’s why probably no update. If still no update, try raising a web form and also calling IRCC

Can you elaborate your question? I’m a little confused. So as soon as you graduate, once you apply for your work permit you can start working asap. But u can’t be working full time on study permit.

Yes you can. But check the processing time since you’ll have to be in india and can’t travel back to Canada till your TRV is approved.

Did it ask if you’ve given the test in the last 2 years? As far as I know u don’t need an IELTS for a TRV since you have a valid work permit

Hey Taniya, I have a question, I and my husband were on study and Spousal open work permit in canada till Nov 2023 respectively. I recently have come to India because of my pregnancy, I'm due in May 2024 and My husband is still in canada working for an MNC. Before I moved we both applied for extension of our permits and immediately in 2 days we got an extention till march 2024. 1.My husband wants to visit me during my delivery (as I'v decided to deliver in India, Mumbai) in this situation what would you suggest, when should we apply for TRV for him and if we apply now I think we'll get the trv till march 2024 (as we've got an extension till march 2024), is it a good idea to wait for proper 3 years' extention and then apply for trv? 2. And, what if he travels to india in may and he gets the trv stamping request in canada.. can he raise a webform and change the address and request authorities to send the passport request at Indian address?

Ur correct. Most likely TRV will come till March 2024 so that might not be useful. An option is to apply TRV from india itself but the drawback here is that you both will have to wait in india till the TRV gets approved
