I have been considering applying to American colleges for a long time but I’m not sure. Is it worth all the work? As in, did you get into many of the colleges you applied to or were you very limited. I’m not sure if it’s worth it or if I should just focus on the lc. Loved the video x

Hey. Currently considering medicine (would be taking a year out and taking the HPAT after the LC) but I’m not sure whether I’d enjoy some of the course E.g. anatomy but adore the idea of being a doctor in general. Could I ask you a few questions about your course? What do you recommend people to read who are considering medicine but not certain? Thanks. Love the videos.

hello ask away any qs! for introduction to medicine and being a doctor in general I actually recommend shadowing or volunteering in a hospital since that will actually give you real life experiences that will inform your decisions better than just reading other people's stories. But if thats not possible I would usually check the internet for doctors reasons for choosing medicine and their thought processes. I definitely think it is possible to be a good doctor without being obsessed with anatomy :)

@@KiMai Thanks so much for the reply! That’s really assuring thank you. What would be your favorite and least favorite subject of the course and why? How do you find trinity as a university for medicine? Was it your first choice? Why/Why not? I’ve heard that Trinity is notorious for its lack of concern for its medical students. Do you think this is true? Should I contact my GP about shadowing them? I’m not sure how it’d work given the current climate but I’ll try anything! What surprised you about medicine? What aspects were as expected? How do you find the workload? Do you have a nice work-life balance? Would you be willing to share some of your introductory notes so as to get a feel of the material? If not, no worries. Why did you choose to study medicine? What would you like to specialize in? Thanks again :)
