How to apply vinyl to a mug with Cricut

In this video I show a step by step beginner friendly process on how to apply vinyl to mug. This is a great first project if you just received a Cricut machine!

Just a tip for those that might struggle transferring the vinyl to the transfer tape. See how she was actually placing her finger tips in the part right before it is lifting from the vinyl. That actually helps a lot. if you have really stubborn vinyl you can use your squeegee there to help the vinyl stick to the transfer tape.

That is beautiful! I just started working with vinyl. I keep getting bubbles/air pockets when I lay it on the flat surfaces I've tried it on. You make it look so easy. How do you avoid bubbles? Starting in the center and working out?

Sometimes if you are putting vinyl on glass it is hard to get rid of bubbles, but I definitely think it helps to start from the center and work your way out! Also, if it's not laying down well with the curve surface, you can cut slits in your transfer tape when you are applying it, and I've found that to help with air bubbles!

You can also use a lint roller as transfer tape it's less expensive

Definitely do not put it in the dishwasher. If you want it to last you'll have to seal it.

It is a brayer tool. It helps the material stick down well on the mat and prevents it from picking up while the Cricut is cutting.
