Gotta say, after producing for nearly 6 years, this channel always seems to feel like most helpful and comprehensive tips and tricks channel. Doesn't dwell in a niche and takes time to explain everything very well. Keep it up, guys.

Went from feeling overwhelmed with arranging drums to confident after 1 video. Crazy. You explained everything so well! I'm leaving this comment here as a reminder to purchase your course in the future.

I love that you show the process of experimenting with options. Knowing what options you have is such a great tool to use when you get stuck, or uninspired. It is like a painter knowing which colors they can paint with.

I started adding background percussive loops like you demoed here after watching your videos for a while, and that alone added so much to my drum sounds. Started experimenting with pitched wood and tom hits to add some of that as well. Processed the metric shit out of them and used that as a sort of ambient, but still driving layer and I've been loving it.

Hi Austin! I'm listening through your podcast and in the episode from about a month ago you asked people to let you know if we'd like to see you full workflow for creating drum samples. I'm just here to let you know that I would be extremely interested in seeing that :) Thank you!

Awesome tutorial, I used to feel stuck whenever I needed to make backing tracks with drums because I worked mostly with orchestral backing tracks. Thanks for pointing out where to get decent samples in the first place and for the freebies.

Great vid man. Would love a part 2 that helps match the drums to the groove of the vocal. Or how to hum melodic vocal ideas that are more percussive and fit the drum groove

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial!!! I really like the keys sound at 1:50!!! I can see it's based on two instances of instruments you name Main Keys. Can you tell me which instruments you use to create this sound?

I don't know why I never noticed how much Alt+dragging you do until this video. 😅 Now... I don't use Cubase anymore, but try using Alt+Shift+drag to copy a MIDI region AND have it sync changes across all loops. Saves a ton of time when you're building out arrangements using 4 or 8 bar loops.

it`s cool and all, but everytime I invite a drummer To the studio, its always leveling up the production! :D

Oh definitely! But you won’t get the same sounds as you do when you program. Live tracked drums sound amazing when that’s what the song needs though!

@@MakePopMusic Yeah! you are totally right, it has to fit the production! also I am a cubase user and with the hitpoints and sample replacement, the possibilities are ENDLESS! 🎼 love your content btw ❤️

Why didn’t you just side chain compress the kick to the snare? Way cleaner than messing about with velocities
