OMG I just bought one of these four-shelf jobs from Home Depot, it cost me like $35 and doesn't even really have a locking top spring top bar assembly. You can adjust for height, of course, but the top spring and stays just kind of float inside the top bars, so you have to kind of pull the bar down on springs to clear the ceiling as you place the whole thing, instead of cranking the top bar in place to the spring assembly so it locks, as in some of these models. Ah well. It took me like 45 minutes of screwing with it and rereading the instructions to finish it. It did stay in, and looks pretty good thus far. I thought I'd bought a locking-spring-bar model, but I guess that one was like $125 at Home Depot. The best laid plans.....anyway, your video makes it a lot clearer. The problem with this model is if you lose grip on the top bar, you could have it slam into something and damage drywall or some other materials that are in the way. The locking one is a lot more foolproof.

@@brandynicole1910 Oof! Not good. I managed to install this thing two years ago and it hasn't moved since! Thank God. i also got a new curtain and liner recently and that was a good investment as well. I had some handyman install a curved shower curtain rod two years ago also, moving into a rental house, because I was having trouble drilling for some reason into the bath wall, and I didn't have the patience. It should have been an easy job, but wasn't.

Thank you Michael. :D I bought the plastic one. All I needed was to discard one of the B tubes as well.
@jimsomethingelse94935 жыл бұрын
First the negatives: 1) volume was so low I had to run my volume control to the max. 2) but you muttered and I was unable to understand you even (I'm an old man) at full volume but my wife was. 3) When you began assembly you positioned yourself with your back to the camera blocking a view of the tubes -- you should have sat on the far side of the tubes so it was easy to see what you were doing. 4) The camera shaking the entire time was unnerving. Now the positives: We had thrown it in the trash, but I found this video, dug all the parts out of the trash and, using your video, made it work. Thank you very much. Now some tips for others: Opening means the distance from the ceiling to where the bottom of the pole will rest. Tapered tube means a straight tube with a tapered end. Tube D is 19 inches long with a tapered end. Tubes A & B are used for all assemblies. For a 60 inch opening you add only tube D. 62 - 67 1/2 inch openings only require tube C. 71 1/2 - 81 1/2 inch openings use both tubes C & E. Above that use all tubes. You must determine how many spacers (the black things) are needed for your opening. Our opening was 69 inches and needed no spacers. Thanks again jim

Thank you! A few more hints: the white caps that go with the spring are placed INSIDE the top and bottom of the tube containing it. Also, you may not need all the black tubes that go on top of the spring. If the caddy is too tall for your tub, try taking one or two out.
@priscillalopez72504 жыл бұрын
Would the black things above the spring have to do with why ours is not going directly up the wall? It kind of bends out liek if theres too much tension
@CTSpeed4134 жыл бұрын
Great job! Yes, the instructions are horrible, which is why I came here. The instructions also don't mention the spacer inserts, which are plastic, and required, if you want it to fit in a higher ceiling situation. Anyway, thank you, you also saved me time. 😂 correction, part F, no picture, initially, but part F. 😂 had to use all three. The installation procedure isn’t really difficult, I think I had it four minutes into the video, but without those four minutes, I’d still be yelling at it!! Good job!!!
