This is the first KZbin, or any video, that truly got me out of a pinch and saved my ass. A heartfelt, and genuine thank you to you my good man. I'm truly grateful for my new knowledge. I'm back up and running, snappin necks, and cashin checks thanks to you. 🤙

Thank you so much for this video.... My Stihl 181 chainsaw cord broke the third tune I used it. Your video showed me how to replace the cord correctly on my first attempt. Much appreciated!

this would have been very helpful if I had found this a week ago. eventually I did figure it out and yes, winding it inside the housing definitely is the best(and only) way to go

I'd like to see someone do that on a Stihl FS38 string trimmer.. and also if it can be done when it has a backbend in it from springing out.

l have a Giantz 75cc 22'' chainsaw. This chainsaw has 2 springs, one ( assuming) sucks the rope in which is 6mm, other is 12mm starts the engine. After l changed the snapped spring (12mm) Everything was ok till l tried starting it. There was only one revolution which wasnt enough to start it. l fooled around with for a while but, l coudnt work it out. Where did l go wrong? Thank you for sharing such a helpful video :)

NOTE: This video doesn't actually show you how to successfully re-coil and reinstall the rewind spring. There's a cut in the footage and suddenly the return spring appears in place. For all we know they just used a pro-coiled Stihl OEM part, which comes on a discardable plastic fan that allows you to quickly place the spring into the housing. I literally could've (and should've [so I'm the idiot]) driven to my Stihl dealer, bought an OEM spring, driven home, and installed it in the time I wasted trying the video's approach. At least I didn't damage the anchor point in the fan housing, which is just plastic!
