What a shame, a lovely video; well presented and clear instructions but no end result! What does it look like and what should one serve with it? It sounds so English, is it eaten everywhere in the UK?

Hi, Squeamish! As no-one has answered you... I will! It is a well known recipe in the UK as it is so cheap to make and in the world war 2 when we had food rationing people would make it with wild fruit like blackberries. Simply turn it out onto a plate and slice. Pour over single cream or whipped cream. Enjoy! x

This isn’t a very well made summer pudding. Very untidy and the edges of the lid not very well sealed in.

I would use brioche instead of stodgy white horrible anaemic bread.

I made mine with sourdough bread- was absolutely divine!!

I've never seen anyone make a summer pudding with jam and bread or use cling film. I wonder what would have happened if she had turned the pudding out on camera - looks like it's ready to collapse at any minute !!!

You have to let it sit overnight. The bread absorbs the juice and when you turn it out, it all holds together.
