Let me know how it holds up, I’ve been thinking about building a rifle from PSA
@Adventure3Man Жыл бұрын
@@jacobseraphin685 when we got it built there was something wrong with the trigger, for whatever reason it was having trouble resetting as when we got it all put together and took it to the range after each shot I had to push the trigger forward and it'd click then I could shoot again, but it was entirely a trigger issue. It was what they called the PSA enhanced polished trigger. Everything else was good, it has a little bit of rattle to it and to fix the issue my buddy who helped me build it had his own PSA rifle that he'd built previously and he had just upgraded his Trigger to a geissele one so he gave me his psa factory trigger and now no more issues! I'm sure if I emailed PSA they likely would have sent me a new Trigger but I didn't want to wait as I'm very impatient lol. Rifle has been running like a charm since!

Good information but lousy visuals. Most of the work being done (the important parts that we beginners need to actually see) was done out of view of the camera. I need you to slow down and show a close-up of everything you do. For example, staking the castle nut. I need to see precisely where you place the tip of your punch and the angle you hold it. And the little detents. Close-ups please of the tubes/chambers where they go and their orientation when you put them in. The hammer install, I could not see how the spring oriented over the trigger pin or whatever it was that it had to go over. I've never done this before. Verbal explanation is not enough. in tight close-ups is what I need. And time to pause the video as I try to follow along one step at a time.

It had been several years since I'd last assembled a Lower, and your video was exactly what I needed as a refresher. Once I had it most of the way done, i didnt finish your video and went from muscle memory and denomination.. however, I did end up ejecting the buffer retainer spring and pin, probably because I didn't follow your tip (if any) to keep it from happening; as I'm in my garage, the spring is absolutely in the Nether Realm with all the left-footed socks the dryer eats. I did find the pin, however. My 2 cents to add to the conversation? Watch this video twice before touching your parts kit. Remember that you can zoom with the new KZbin update, it might help with close up shots. Also know that the spring from a click pen works fine as a temporary replacement for a buffer retention spring. 😉

WAIT!!! THE MAAGAZINE RELEASE NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED BEWFORE THE BOLT RELEASE. THIS HAS BEEN QUIETLY FLIPPED IN "PART-2". A small but sincere apology to all those who installed the bolt release first, with a pin, only to then find it nearly impossible to screw the magazine release down all the way, might be slightly appropriate. As usual, I reviewed the entire video first, (using it as a refresher) to the very end where I found this innocuously named "part-duh (2)". Mysteriously, the bolt release and the magazine release were flipped appropriately.

This is a very bad technical video. Very little explanation or illustration of what is being done. Tighten castle but “as tight as I can”. “Push metal” to stake. Let’s also run a rat tail file through our machined takedown pin bore to get her lined up. If a person didn’t know the deal or have a basic mechanical aptitude this video could leave you very confused or lead you to hurt your parts. Good thing I am a NASA aerospace certified gun assembler smith and can read between the lines.
@turn-n-burn1421 Жыл бұрын
I have to say, especially for newbies, you could have done this much better. I watched because it's been nearly a year since my last build. But looking mostly at what you 'assumed' people might get was a modest error. For one, near the end, while you're installing the buffer tube and takedown pin, you never showed putting the pin in the rear hole, only the spring. And on both, the rear takedown and front pivot, you might have shown and explained that the grooves in those pins have to face the hole so that everything lines up and captures in those slots. Also, in the pivot pin, while you're swapping that file for the actual pivot pin, you might additionally emphasize that you need to keep pressure toward that spring if you don't want to wind up on your knees searching all over for those tiny items. You did mention they might go flying, but until someone has actually experienced it, they're not gonna understand. I know; I'm armchair quarterbacking, but once you've made a video and watched it while editing, you have an opportunity to notice what you left out. Not soon; and viewers, there are several of these assembly videos, both for uppers and lowers; one day I might make one for people who are brave enough to try their very first build. For those people, we're not talking about constructing a skyscraper or flying to the moon, but it is a wonderful feeling to know you did this yourself. Pretty satisfying.

Want to build an AR pistol basic is the same process but you cannot have the adjustable stock buffer tube because the new laws from the ATF that go in effect of his August so for everybody who wants to build a lower do not put no adjustable socks because that's a no no this process is only for a rifle the only difference is that if you going to build a pistol AR pistol you have to have a buffer tube and according to the new law no arm brace are no longer legal without converting it into an SBR everything keeps changing it's sad because a lot of people do have trouble with their hands I thank you for this video correct me if I'm wrong on anything but according to the new literature of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Empire arms arm braces will no longer be grandfather in this is a sad situation because there are people who have trouble with their hand and the arm brace helps a lot if you going to built it this way for a short barrel rifle then you have to fill an ATF Form one.
