Do you know if it is possible to assemble it differently? As in drawers on the right and the shelves facing inwards instead of outwards?

Around 2:18 you can see the holes for the tabletop and it looks like they're drilled differently on either side, unfortunately. I was hoping the same thing and am very disappointed they no longer offer these as stand-alone pieces for customization. I wanted the shelves and drawers reversed.

The dent was there when you flipped it over. So it’s possible that it arrived like that. Nice job, all on your own!

I want to buy this desk, but the dent concerns me. How sturdy is the desk after 7 months? Did anyone else have this problem?

Too stressful. Ikea does it for you for a couple of bucks. Don’t assume you’ve broken the board yourself. Sometimes pieces came broken. That’s why it’s good checking everything before starting. Paying the extra assembling fare avoids these issues.
