Thanks for watching. This video demonstrates how to build an AR-9 upper- including assembling the barrel, barrel nut, handguard, and muzzle device. It also includes a description of the parts I used.

Great tutorial! 90% of these "build" videos are just "look at my new gun" with no useful information. I was building my own on EPC 9 upper & lower and you helped me through a couple of key steps. Well done!

That’s the main difference between men & women, we buy parts/guns even when we don’t have the money & women can stay patient & wait until they get a good deal 😆. Great build, it looks good.

Very nice demo. Your verbal skills are exemplary. They allowed you to provide tons on detail without subjecting the viewer to a verbose forty minute snoozer. Beautiful hands too.

A very good and useful video. I'm on my sixth build, using a standard lower that I intend to put interchangeable 9mm and .223 side-charging uppers on. Not many videos show how to put a barrel and a compensator on with a torque wrench, compression nut and shims.Your video had the most useful info with zero macho bullshit in it. My congratulations.

Cool!!! Just got my AR 45 last night wondering where the hell my barrel nut is located......now I know!!! My first AR. Much lighter than my L1A1 and my Frenchy. Yes....I am a big 308 fan.

I just got my Handguard, barrel and upper in today. Ive built many ar15 lowers but always just bought the complete upper and off I go. My first upper to piece together. Thanks for the demo. Wife asked how I learned to do it I said "I had a pretty lady show me how"! that didn't go over so well. then I added on "KZbin " so here we are watching it a second time. LOL

that looks more like a 5.5 inch barrel rather then a 4 inch. awesome build and video!

9mm AR barrels are measured differently than regular AR barrels. They're measured as overall length whereas regular AR barrels are measured from the shoulder that mates and index's to the upper.

5.5" is the shortest 9mm barrel BA offers

Yeah.. I'll believe the HG is 4", that bbl is longer seeing them side by side. I'm looking to use a 9ish length bbl with BCM MCMR8 HG.. should allow muzzle threads to fall just outside the handguard.. I hope if I done homework correctly 😉

Not saying you did it wrong, making an alternative suggestion... when putting the barrel nut on, why not set the torque to 30-35, THEN tighten further to get proper alignment (timing). Seems more practical than torquing to 50 adding shims.

This was really helpful to give me an idea of what I need to do for my first build. What about using barrel nut grease to prevent binding due to dissimilar metals?
@zerohero66022 жыл бұрын
I think you mean anti seize lubricant? I use loctite C5A from brownells also aeroshell grease is very popluar. Its used when you are marrying two different types of metals such as aluminum and steel.

Pretty lady putting together a PCC. What's not to like? I favor Colt mag PCC receivers, but I do realize it's a Glock world. You failed to ramble on incessantly as many do with their videos. Refreshing. Only thing I would change is a switch of the outro music to a live version of Elan from Nightwish w/Floor Jansen. 😉🤘

"just watch a girl tighten up a barrel nut"......Yeah baby. But I am just starting my first ever AR build. I am in the buying parts phase. I decided on 30 Luger of all things. Mostly that the ammo is cheaper than 9mm and can be found. I can switch to 9mm when and if things ever calm down. Glad I found this video

Can you please show a video of how it ran. I was wondering how the ejection works with a normal 223/556 upper receiver. I have a AR9 that im trying to build but I'm not sure if i should buy a dedicated 9mm upper with a wider ejection port of if my regular 223/556 upper will work at ejecting the stubby 9mm round..
@mp-xt2rg2 жыл бұрын
Just put some oil on the threads and torque the nut in one go. Even critical situations like head gasket clamping that kind of process isn't used. Honestly on a gun you could just guess, I wouldn't even bother with a torque wrench. The ultimate strength doesn't change and the preload isn't that important since nothing is being sealed.

is it neccessary that the barrel on a 9mm has to be timed? i was advised that this is only needed to be timed only on a 556. can someone clear that info for me?
@donsmith97974 жыл бұрын
If there is an additional cut in the barrel ( feed ramp) then it will be pinned and that pin will go into the slot on the upper, if there are no additional cuts in the barrel ( no feed ramp) then it won't matter. I generally just put the engraving on these barrels up. Hope this helps you out.
@RideForLifeCR250R2 жыл бұрын
Terminology helps convey and you sound more like you know your stuff. Those "little screws" are handguard pinch bolts and no grease (aeroshell 64) on bbl ext.. just bbl nut threads. It's there to prevent galling and allow bbl nut to tighten smooth and consistently. "Centering" bbl nut not required/doesn't matter.
