Is pre lube the cleaned bearing preferred before you put the bearing caps on? This way it is metal on metal. I don't think that the oil you apply after locking all the nuts will lube those bearings

Questions Peter. Why is it important to remove the excess oil from the camshaft and bearing plates etc before installing, then you added oil back after torquing all the bolts? As long as the parts are clean before install it seems like any excess oil would help lubricate all the parts upon initial restart of the engine? The motor oil will be splashing around on all the parts anyway once the engine is started right? Thx

Here, Two steps: 1) 40 lbs and then also 2) Angle tighten a further 90 degree
