I love the idea of a rubber strap over the cam band. Hadn't seen that one before.

Thank you so much for putting in the effort to create, translate and post this video! I just started diving SM a few months ago and it’s been so much fun. Almost like learning to dive all over again. Thanks again, Just subscribed!

Thank you and my pleasure! It takes some amount of dives to become comfortable with but afterwards you can not imagine your diving without it 🙂

This is the best explanation I've seen so far. I add a loop around the valve with a double ender, so I can clip the tank to my d ring in case my bungee breaks. Otherwise, your set up is similar to mine.
@MartinSlisans2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yeah, I do the same as you, just didn’t cover that in this video. Mainly I’m using top clip to get in and out of water, if I do shore dives. Underwater tension to bungee is little.

Where should i bought this sidemount? I really interesting with sidemount
@MartinSlisans Жыл бұрын
There are many resellers around and many sidemound brands. The hardest is to choose actually:)) For me the best are xdeep and razor. The rest is more for recreational use while I need also Technical and these two brands gives me that.

We'll be bringing our side-mount gear. Do you have small tanks for me, a small-ish person? LOL Can't wait!

I don't see side mount as a practical set up for anything other than caves.
@MartinSlisans Жыл бұрын
Oo🙂, it’s very useful for deep dives and currents as well. Also for those who need more air, back problems, and buoyancy issues. Like 11 years ago my opinion was the same as yours, even though I was certified sidemountvdiver already🙂 But then I started to use it more and changed the way I look at it.

@@MartinSlisansit’s also really good for shore dives so you can don and doff your gear in the water instead of entering the water with everything on your back

Then the question is what is right? Is it only way to do it and what environment you dive?🙂
@mikedugan325319 күн бұрын
I don't know about that, initial training is just that, after that you have to adapt to what you're provided. From some locations not providing DIN cylinders, to others not having left and right side valves and all their cylinders have short stems, you deal with it. Some will say put the right cylinder reg under so the valve handle is out, others will say that's dangerous. Some will balk at cam bands, others love them. It's all preference based on what's provided and what you've learned through the years. And if you dive SM long enough you will run into many of these problems, so if your a DIN reg person take a DIN adapter, if you're a yoke person, take some DIN inserts, and always be ready to deal with two left-side cylinders with short stems for some of your dives, somewhere. Nothing is worse than missing a dive..

Well said! Since I uploaded this video, I did full cave course and learned new things. What works for open water, doesn’t in caves, for example. And that’s the beauty of SM, you can adapt, like you said, to not miss a dive. Wrong is only those things, which compromise your safety.
