Hey dude!!! That idea to stick up flathead screwdriver into the the ridge in between the lip of the duct is pretty ingenious! I've been doing this for 8 or 9 years and I still have never thought of that!! (But the times that I have had to snap together 10 foot sticks of 26 gauge 4-in round duct is extremely few and far between so... ) THANK YOU very much for that "TRICK" I've been trying to snap together 10 footers of 4-in 26 gauge round ductwork it's been an absolute nightmare until now!! So thank you for trick! I really appreciate it

you're probably here because you bought one of these pieces of junk from home depot. The problem is the middle is puffed out making it super difficult to fit together. What you do is lay it down and just push and bend each side (male and female) inwards as much as you can. Always push from the center. Eventually the sides will snap in and you can finish off the rest.

How can you do that in a 28 gauge metal for 4 in pipe ? Any tips
@aurora.the.explorer Жыл бұрын
I do I have some concerns that widening the female end will result in a less sturdy seal. Also-- Reading the other comments here made me feel better about how frustrating this is, thanks guys

@@JosEPh-zy3yr Thx. I did use snap lock pipe for my dryer vent approx 12' run and I did tape the seam on the outside. Seems the better it is sealed, the better it will transfer the dryer exhaust.

@SwellsSmells2 жыл бұрын
If you stop to think about it, a single piece of pipe has both male and female sides to it. So it is poly gender or perhaps a hermaphrodite.
