1:46 taped down.. to what? Itself? All your taping is the plastic duct to the plastic duct. Like taping someone to a chair but only wrapping the tape around the skin and never to the chair. The banduit is silly. It will help hold. Bit tape will hold and seal. Also compressing the insulation... is a no go.

Why don’t they sell like 6-7” ducting to connect a flange to a fan, or other similar situations?

To any viewers: if a flex duct tutorial doesn’t include mastic, they’re not doing it right and you should find another video

It’s all done completely wrong. You didn’t use mastic at all. You guys just love Holly wooding shit. Homeowners electric bill is going to be insane and his home will never be cooled nor heated properly. Your whole HVAC system will leak air constantly.

So if it's for an exhaust the saddle would be place on the duct facing the opposite direction or the direction of air flow?

ok so silly question: why do you need the panduit gun? Can I just use nylon zip ties and then just hand tighten them? Thanks

It tightens much more than what you can achieve by hand to compress everything against the metal collar.

Hey dude!!! That idea to stick up flathead screwdriver into the the ridge in between the lip of the duct is pretty ingenious! I've been doing this for 8 or 9 years and I still have never thought of that!! (But the times that I have had to snap together 10 foot sticks of 26 gauge 4-in round duct is extremely few and far between so... ) THANK YOU very much for that "TRICK" I've been trying to snap together 10 footers of 4-in 26 gauge round ductwork it's been an absolute nightmare until now!! So thank you for trick! I really appreciate it

Buddy you need more training before you can teach someone else. You should have put a sealant between the pipe and saddle.

In a humid climate compressing duct insulation will make it sweat. Panduits can only be used on inner liner and the outer liner cannot be crushed or touching other ducts. This method might work in the northern zones but in Florida, the Mech cons

What's the point of the tape over the panduit? What i normally do is put the liner of the flex halfway down the collar, tape it from the base of the collar so that both half the collar and flex liner are taped. Then panduit and tightent the half that's on the collar. Otherwise, what you did seems to only have been putting tape over the liner and panduit, having it attached to nothing but that.
