Bothwell came to existence fairly recently- Two-theee years ago I believe? I remember following their Facebook before they even started their first event, it was so exciting to see them grow! Something I’d love to join in one day, although need time and money for it. But what a grand adventure nevertheless! I’m so excited to see how it will grow, since watching Collage of wizardry grow into the magic it is now, Bothwell has some incredible potential to turn into something England can be proud of! This! XD I refuse to believe it is not heavily based off the HP franchise. There IS actually another witch school in existence but it focuses on becoming what we know as a 'traditional witch'. There are many nice Harry Potter Larps. I'm from germany and we have like 15 larps, that are set in the wizarding world. We have a college of wizardry as well (it's very nice and I made similar experiences as you did). But we have also a Larp in Durmstrang and a Larp for aurors and the magical prosecution. Maybe you have a lot more Larps in England, than you thought you would have ^^

In fact you need to be above 18 for most of the larps. I heard some will accept you at 16 with parents permission and some mass larp have a kid group too. For example in France we have "Conan : legends of Hyborea" (a mass-larp with approximatively 1000 players based on Conan the barbarian) and there's a kid group. Most of the time they are kids of larpers so their parents are in regular groups and they are in the "orphanage group". If larps are for above 18 players it's mostly because there are rules in every game and they need to be respected. But technically if a player breaks the rules, got real problem (break his arm, started a fire in the castle, goes in the second floor which is dangerous and forbidden and pass through the floor because it was weak and ancient or whatever types of real problems) and is under 18 then the one who will got problems are the organizing team because they've accepted under 18 players which are considered as unresponsible for their act because they're not adults. So it will be their fault and they don't want to have this type of problems. Moreover fighting in larp can really hurst even if it's not real weapons and if an adult had to fight a kid he can really hurt him (plus : in most larp touch on the head are forbidden in fights but when your ennemy is a kid, he's smaller than what you're used to so may touch his head more easily). And finally in most of the med-fan larps (at least in France) there's alcohol, stories can abord over eighteen subjects, etc... (for example in the larp I was talking about at the beginning : there's a clan which is a matriarch system, they do "cannibalism" and the women often go top-less as part of the rituels and use tons of fake blood, etc...). Larp is a great activity but like in every activity there can be real problems and bad people so in my view Larp in general is definately an above 18 thing (plus it's really expensive so you better have your own money to go larping)

Haha this is amazing! The canadian university I attend owns this castle, and has study abroad opportunities for students to attend year long/semester long classes here. We even have a drama study program where students apply to work here over the summer and be actors at these kinds of events that occur at the castle.

I swear you got me obsessed with larp and flower crowns and magical fantasy elves and everything!! Like honestly! I've been online roleplaying for years now, my first one being on wattpad. @@Psycho_introvert_ I was really shy too when I first started, There aren't many LARPs around Sussex, at least none that I've been to. If you are looking for a LARP to start out in, I can recommend Empire, it has amazing systems in place to help new larpers to find their feet.
