I hope you read this. People just write negative comments, but maybe it is necessary so someone comes to clear things up. This advice is very good, it doesn't mean you are a shallow or fake person, you are simply using "tools" to your advantage, just like a person using a microwave, he uses it to make the job easier and faster, you can see it that way and get the desired results, or you can see it as something negative, saying that the microwave is for lazy ass people with no cooking skills. Looking good is just the top of the iceberg, its intention is to make you Look attractive and interesting at the first sight. The clothes, accessories, make up, etc. are those tools to improve things of ourselves. When you look good, you feel good, when you feel good, your self esteem and confidence go up and therefore people notice you AND stay even more, besides the outfit that already makes you look interesting. The thing here, is that many people with low self esteem don't even know they have low self esteem, and they can be quite stubborn and have a lot of pride sometimes to admit it, sometimes it's not our fault, it just happens due to our experiences and bad situations and people don't know how to deal with it or don't receive the same help someone else did, it can happen to anyone. It doesn't mean you are poor bastards, it just means that something went wrong, maybe a lot of bad things happened, or maybe nothing happened, sometimes that's the problem too, NOTHING happens, which leads to a lack of meaning. Good or bad self esteem, you Can use these tips, but once you look interesting, you gotta find the way to mantain by your side the people you attract, that's on you, and personality types as well, some factors we can control and others we can't. Self esteem, I said that looking good is a way to boost it, it's true BUT how you keep it that way? It's up to you, sometimes the people you get around you will help you with that, I wouldn't rely on that though, I'd suggest you find more ways. Don't just stay where you are, waiting for a "hero", an attractive, confident, cool, nice, and happy special someone, become one yourself.

Josh Reyes you completely missed the point. Becoming a better version of yourself incorporates many things. Becoming more visually attractive has benefits. Firstly it improves your well-being, your confidence and this is projected toward interactions with other people male and female. If you don't have a handsome face then work on other areas to make up for this. You seem to have a limited self belief. Work on your body, your dress sense, improve on skincare and soon your overall confidence will win thru. This is not hard and just requires the right mind set and motivation to make changes happen. If this seems too much work well then there is no hope for you. If you believe you are the problem then you are also the solution. It's up to you the make change.

well its the truth really. humans are assholes and we like better looking people much easier. my last workplace was a petri dish of randomness. most of the sales guys were good looking and thought they were the shit. but they really had no personalities once you test them. it was just superficial and very trendy. the creative design department where i was, was more quirky and interesting. by the time i quit, my friends already moved on and got replaced by Marvel comic kids. i mean 4 younger people all decorating their cubicles with Marvel stuff? kinda weird. different generations i suppose. but they were all the same, like vanilla. but yeah i saw first hand how looks play a role. its worse than ever now. look how people looked in the 60s, they didn't give a crap about anything!!!!! that is how it should be. but we got trained like monkeys to be superfiicial narcissists and we are much less interesting these days. it depends where u live i suppose.
@gnosticviking96267 жыл бұрын
magpie The only person who said you're ugly, is you. You judge yourself based on skewed, false standards that unenlightened masses push onto everyone else. The only person who can define you is you. What someone elses imperfect view of what is "ugly" is means nothing. And when did physical appearance actually have anything to do with what really matters which is your qualities, attributes and virtues? You are not your body, you are not your past, your future, your regrets or emotions, your thoughts or beliefs. You HAVE a body, you Have a past and future, you Have regrets and emotions, you HAVE thoughts and beliefs. The real You is perfect, limitless, incorruptible and all possibilities are within your grasp. You are the maker or breaker of all that you perceive. You are quiet literally whatever you think you are. Change your mind. Change your thoughts. Your reality will follow suit.
@gnosticviking96267 жыл бұрын
Melody Brun But that doesn't matter if you decide to not let it matter. If you decide to let that matter, it will. Let people put people on a pedestal. It Doesn't matter. Let people define what is ugly using flawed standards based on what they "think" is supposed to be beautiful. It doesn't matter. You can live your life believing that you should be someone else's version of physical appearance, or live your life transcending such meaningless bullshit and empowering yourself with self confidence and personal achievement. The choice is yours. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing anyone to "face" anything.

@melsy947 жыл бұрын
Feeling attractive can give you more confidence, and chicks dig confidence. So technically yes, you're making yourself more attractive by feeling attractive, just not in the visual sense of the word. I can say from experience, as someone whose feelings about another person changed dramatically after that person gained more confidence, it's a damn sexy quality.
@crubs837 жыл бұрын
Confidence is nothing more than a drop in the bucket compared to looks. I'm speaking from my own experience. When I was a young teen, I was full of confidence. I believed I was so much more handsome, kindhearted, talented, intelligent, and ambitious than my peers. I told myself that my fears were ridiculous and decided to go at socializing with my chin high and my chest puffed out because if anyone should be able to, it was me. I got hit with a reality check, hard. Girls had always hated me up until that point, and after I lodged my head up my a**, it only created more opportunities for them to hurt me. It didn't matter how I changed my look, my behavior, or my perception of myself, girls treated me exactly the same. Before you ask, no I wasn't just aiming for the barbies and cheerleaders; all girls treated me the same. They all led me on and called me hurtful names, bullied me and dehumanized me. A universal constant was that they were constantly dissing on my physical appearance, though rarely specifying what they thought was so ugly about me. My weight is healthy and I'm well groomed, but it doesn't matter. The appearance of my face is so repulsive, that no girl wants anything to do with me. I desperately tried for years trying to get "friend-zoned". The thought of being "just friends" with a beautiful girl sounded absolutely amazing to me, but I was so ugly I couldn't even accomplish that. I couldn't even get a girl to sit down with me and have a discussion. Heck, I once sat down next to a girl on the bus, didn't looker at her, didn't talk to her, and tried my darnedest to avoid all physical contact to any degree. The next day I found out she accused me of touching her inappropriately. If girls cared about anything other than looks, I would have had a girlfriend a long time ago. I've only recently come to believe that there are some girls out there who are willing to treat me with basic human decency. I have small bit of hope. Ultimately, I just need to go up to every pretty face I see and ask 'em out, and I might get a yes after around 1000 girls.
@gracelewis60717 жыл бұрын
crubs83 confidence and having your head up your ass are not the same thing. :P Seriously though, I think what you are referring to as "confidence" in your early teen years would most likely be "bravado" or something like it. That's true of almost all teenagers - including the girls who have given you so much trouble. One of the most helpful realizations I've had is that emotions transmit, and that's what people base their interactions off - no matter what the exterior looks like. Confidence includes being nervous as hell, and being able to say "I'm nervous as fuck right now" because you're OWNING it. You're not pointing out your nervousness in a "oh please have pity on me" kinda way, but in a "oh man, life is a trip huh, isn't it great?!" kinda way. Because you know they can relate, you're taking charge of the interaction, and you're choosing to do something positive with it. Unfortunately with the situation on the bus, your insistence on trying to shut her out as much as possible is probably exactly what made her feel violated - sitting next to someone who FEELS like they're doing something wrong (which is what happens when you are trying not to do something "wrong" - something that will get you into trouble) is not a pleasant experience. Human beings are very simple - we assume that of someone feels shame there must be a reason for it. I'm going to recommend two things - one, check out Eliott Hulse here on KZbin. Two, "the language of emotions" is a freaking GREAT book, and I honestly think almost everyone would benefit from reading it. Good luck man! High school is rough. It gets better, I promise. You might have to learn some new ways of relating to yourself and others, but it is totally worth it. And there are others that won't judge you too - find your tribe!

i have a friend whos super fucking ugly but he works out really hard and hes super confident because of that and he gets more chicks than most guys i know and i know rich handsome talls guys that never get girls because theyr insecure little bitches, work on boosting your confidence and see how the power of attracting almost anything is literally in your hands, CONFIDENCE IS SEXY

Most people I know usually associate attractivness with dumbness and narcissism rather than cleverness and success.However, Ive noticed that guys are way more patient and obedient when their girlfriend is pretty.When it comes to sex they wait until theyre ready,they never truly fight back when they argue in fear of losing them and when sexy mean girls are selfish and treat them like shit they fall in love with them even harder.Not only that,after they break their hearts they still love them.If an average or bad looking girl did all those the boy would break up with her in a week.Like,why?Ive seen this happen so many times and it drives mad.Is it worth it to have a hot girlfriend if she makes your life hell?At least it will teach them not to be so shallow next time...
@blackeuropean47007 жыл бұрын
No it won't teach them anything because we are biologically wired to love beauty. Beauty is an expression of high quality genes. Those guys you've noticed were heartbroken because they wanted to have children with these women to better the outcome of their genetic offspring. Beautiful people *are* better than ugly people, and that pill is hard for a lot of people to swallow.

From a British science documentary, my understanding of the Halo Effect is this: you meet someone for the first time and don't find them particularly attractive.But if you spend a lot of time in their company, and you find them to be a good, likeable person, then over time they also start to seem more attractive THAN YOU FIRST THOUGHT.So as long as you behave well toward people, over time those who see you do this consistently will start to find you more attractive than THEY FIRST DID.NOTE: It doesn't necessary mean they'll start to see you as Adonis or Venus, just more attractive than they originally did. So that may not be a huge improvement, but it WILL be something!There is however a REVERSE HALO EFFECT: you may start off appearing attractive to someone, but if they regularly see you behave like a creep, pretty soon you won't look so good in the looks department either!So being a nice guy is worth the effort, although it's best it it's genuine on your part.Only give of yourself what you can authentically manage, or else you'll overstretch yourself, get tired of it, and risk getting crabby with people.

It is usually true that similar interests can spark a friendship, but I find it important to note that you don't have to have something in common with someone immediately to initiate a friendship. The first conversation I ever had with my best friend of four years was about how I thought that she would be a terrible spy, and she disagreed and thought that she would make the best spy ever and we argued for an hour. We still have arguments on that to this day.

This girl I was dating, it’s always all about her and her day, her feelings, her problems, everyone else is a looser…… Had some average sex and then finally had enough of her behavior and showed her the door, in a polite way. Really didn’t miss her, she on the other hand thought I was in love with her or attached to her emotionally. Fraid not. A few weeks go by and she calls to “break up with me”! Well….. okay….. if it makes you feel better, I’ll go along with this. She gives me a laundry list of all the things that are wrong with me, why she’s breaking up with me, and I patiently listen. Finally, she has exhausted the list and went silent. I think she was waiting for me to come back with… “oh yea? Well you’re a…… But I didn’t. I thanked her for pointing out those areas where I need to improve, told her I’ll work on it for the next time, and kindly ended the call. A few months go by and she calls again! I am surprised by this call. She is very friendly on this call and wants to know if we could go out to a comedy club together. Of course she expect me to drive, pick her up, pay for her meal, drinks, and entry fee into the comedy club. Like a schmuck I agree but make it a double date with a past girlfriend of mine who is a decent human being and her new boyfriend, as I didn’t know what she was up to. We are at the comedy club and she either gets drunk or is acting drunk. Now remember, I am paying for her night out. Starts getting loud and is coming on to the comedians during their performance and also after their performance where they are at tables set up outside the club trying to sell their CD’s, T-Shirts, and so on. I asked my friends to walk a good distance away from the tables with me so that it was obvious to her I wasn’t watching her performance. She comes out of the crowd and finds me talking with my friends and tells me that she hopes I wasn’t offended or mad at her for “gushing” all over the comedians at the table. I told very calmly that I wasn’t aware of what she was doing at the tables, but I hope that she was having a good time, and if she wanted to stay and talk more to the comedians, she was welcome to do so, but would need to find another way home because the rest of us are getting ready to go right now. She came with us. Unfortunately for me, we did not car pool with my friends, so I was left to listen to her telling me all about how cute she thought the comedians were, and apologizing to me for “gushing” all over them and asking me if I thought she was gushing too much. I told her I really hadn’t noticed and turned the music in the car up on the loud side so that she had to talk loud to be heard. I said very little and just would nod or say uh huh at all the right times. She told me she had a good time. I responded by saying that I was glad I was able to show her a good time. She quickly responded back that she wasn’t referring to me and didn’t mean me, she was referring to the club and the comedians. I responded back by saying, well then okay, I am glad that I was able to take you to a place where you were able to enjoy yourself. Finally got her home and backed the car into the driveway. She opened the door, got out and stood in the driveway, and then continued to lean over and talk to me more about how attractive she thought the comedians were and she kept over using the word “gushing”. I just kept nodding and saying uh huh at all the right times. Finally,……. She stopped talking and closed the door. I didn’t pull away fast, but as soon as the door closed, the car was rolling. That was the last I heard or seen her and it’s been several years now… over fifteen. On one other occasion before this last date when I was still seeing her. A small group of us were going out to an event that had a start time and a finish time. I went to her place with a friend of mine to pick her up and it was very clear to her what time I would be there to pick her up and what time we needed to be at the event. Her room-mates let me in and we sat down in the kitchen and talked. I asked where was Nancy? I thought she was still in her bedroom getting ready. They said she wasn’t home yet from a costume party she was attending. We were already cutting it close and I was about to leave without her at this point. She comes in the door at this point still wearing her costume and announces that not only does she need to change out of the costume, but she is also going to take a shower. We all looked at each other as she walked away from us, down the hallway, and into her bedroom. She kept talking/yelling at us from the bedroom as she was getting ready to go into the shower. As soon as she got in the shower, I stood up and calmly announced we were leaving. Her room-mates just looked at me and smiled, my friend didn’t understand what I was doing and why was I not waiting for Nancy. I explained it in the car on the way. Wish I could have been there to see her face when she came out of the shower.

100% correct. Your genes are your destiny.
@DarthMadV7 жыл бұрын
but people are generally attracted to people of their same level of attractiveness. Good looks don't translate to good genes, so that doesn't matter that's just a false belief, looks don't actually matter at all. You can be good looking but have a history of cancer and stroke that run in your family. Usain Bolt has good genes but to me is rather ugly.. even though he has it made in life. People just want to have good looking kids because they think it will make their life better/easier and that just isn't true, look at Donald Trump. Even attractive people can think their ugly and have conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder. People are simply brainwashed especially in youth. Truly healthy relationships that try live up to 'till death do us part' are more likely to establish much later in life when wrinkles have formed. Relationships established in youth are most likely to crumble much more frequently especially when you form communion over shallow and influenced subconscious beliefs(such as Romanticism) in your 20's you barely know yourself, you're building a foundation to your personality. Establishing a relationship when you are 40+ years old is more likely to be influent of the craving of psychological unity, not a craving of shallow physical, romanticised idea that is influenced by the Halo Effect, even though one will still have a basic subconscious check-list of what they find attractive in a potential partner, it's much less shallow.

something i've found is that white teeth, good eyebrows, a golden tan, and wearing clean expensive looking clothing really boosts you up. i know those sound pretty obvious and superficial but it's true. wearing colors that not only match but also compliment your face and hair are also very important. i tan outside a lot and use self tanner during the winter months so i always maintain a golden tan even though i'm actually pretty pale. i have medium brown hair with natural blonde highlights and hints of red in it. i also have brown eyes. i've found that i look best wearing black, blue, and white. i've also found that a great way to make up for having some bad features is to have one or two really nice features. i'm not all that attractive but if try to keep my skin a nice golden color and fairly clear it can distract from other things like nose shape or other things. really nice eyebrows really distract people from the rest of your face. Super white glowing teeth are absolutely amazing at distracting from flaws and blemishes

There's this guy I have crush on for three years now. I guess I went a bit berzerk to attract Him, as a birthday present on His 18th birthday, I gave Him two tickets to blink-182 in London, mine and His favourite band. I guess He got scared or His parents didn't let Him go outside the country so I found myself crying pathetically and not leaving my bed for two days. I still really like Him though. Do we really have too much in common to be together? I'm really shy usually and so is He. I really had to get over myself so much to even afford this (there went my whole summer's salary). Geez, I wish He could just love me back.:/ I've had a lot of boyfriends but I guess I never really fell in love till I met Him.

Like this video says, everyone has imperfections. This video is talking physical appearance. But there is also spiritual, mental, and emotional imperfections. It is extremely easy to overlook these because it is not something we can see. Granted a good physical appearance gives you a handicap up to a certain point. But if you are not growing out of your comfort zone, you'll never get to the next level. All too often I see short tempers when people don't get their way. That is the number one sign I look for in a person. It's an external test I wait for. I don't cause the incident. I let life happen and see how they handle a situation. If I see greed, temper, putting others down, then that person is not a person I want in my circle. I only look for people that grow (be it an acquaintance, friend, partner, or romantic relationship). The only way to improve your self esteem is to go outside your comfort zone, which in turn will grow your comfort zone. By grinding this out, self esteem will improve as a side effect. Also you MUST heal your past. That little kid you used to be still lives inside you. He/she needs love. If you don't love him/her, she'll never heal. Continually work on all of these and it doesn't matter what you do, your life is going to kick so much ass, and people are going to want to feel as good as you, so they will always want to be around you.

This video presents the concept as though it's innate when it's not it's conditioning..same as definitions of beauty are constructed and conditioned...put different looking babies in a room to play and they approach each other out of instinct and curiousity..it's only as we are taught through experiences and adults to place value on looks and to fear difference that this changes...I am more impressed by those of us who are not afraid to be our authentic selves 100% of the time instead of hiding perceived imperfections...genuine people will not even notice your flaws or if they do they won't be used to judge you...lasting confidence comes from not allowing others opinions of you to define who you are the earlier this notion is learned and applied the better. Looks fade... strength of character and how you impact others are eternal if you want something permanent dont focus on temporary solutions.☺️

get rejected by 100% of the women you approach no matter how u act then we see how u feel when youre middle aged and dying alone. if u have 1 trait, say u share interests with a girl, even if real (or pretend like this video suggests) that dont mean she will romantically love u like this video suggests...or even be your friend. lol like if an ugly faced, balding, borderline midget Janitor from Pakistan lookin like Dany Devito's ugly Pakistan cousin, approaches a prime Paris Hilton or any all American hot girl, if he wears nice clothes (which is subjective) and combs his hair (which is impossible if he bald) and tries to talk to her about what she likes (which may require mind reading) and he agrees with her, she will magically be physically attracted to him and get PHYSICAL. lol! she would probably see him, and figure he's 1 of those ugly losers tryin to dress/act nice to compensate. your looks and the Halo effect are HEAVILY based on NATURAL looks, which are objectively judged mostly, even by the sub conscience. Subjective personality will at most get you friendzone, assuming she likes your personality, or even gives you the time of day to talk in the 1st place. And even if u ignore or spin that somehow into saying this video's advice works: hot girls have insane options in person and now it's worse with social media/dating apps. they already get tons of guys with high LMS (looks/money/status) who dress nice and have things in common. the notion that a Brad Pitt lookin businessmen with her same race/interests will get rejected for the above mentioned ugly, poor immigrant looking guy with her same interests is an ignorant cope.

Guess what there are women who actually find all different types of men attractive and appreciate them for who and what they are. Yes it helps when you pay attention to a woman and the things she likes. If you pretend to be into those things when you're not she's going to find out eventually. I would say possibly making yourself look nice and paying attention to what people like or just general over all humanity rules. People are little bit more complex than what this video indicates and there's a lot of everything in the world. Better advice would be get to know yourself like yourself and then take yourself out and bounce it off other people. People who don't respect you for being you aren't worth being in your world anyway.
@airplayrule6 жыл бұрын
nice made up wishful thinking. i guess all those studies are wrong and youre right. and women dont reject guys who are shorter, insanley skinnier/poorer etc. than they are. & i guess 97.7% of white women don't really marry white men and the last census was wrong. oh wait, that leaves 2.3% of them open to different races. maybe all those objective traits women want are subjective because it's not 100%. lol. if you get rejected your whole life, you will die alone. your coping talking points dont really help. lol like if an ugly faced, balding, borderline midget Janitor from Pakistan lookin like Dany Devito's ugly Pakistan cousin, approaches a prime Paris Hilton or any all American hot girl, if he wears nice clothes (which is subjective) and combs his hair (which is impossible if he bald) and tries to talk to her about what she likes (which may require mind reading) and he agrees with her, as long as it's genuine, she will magically be physically attracted to him and get PHYSICAL. lol! she would probably see him, and figure he's 1 of those ugly losers tryin to dress/act nice to compensate. your looks and the Halo effect are HEAVILY based on NATURAL looks, which are objectively judged mostly, even by the sub conscience. Happiness isn't about ego Molly. Don't let ego be your enemy. Just be a true honest person that is attractive, not looks or money.

How bout just be yourself?
@MatthewMaranell7 жыл бұрын
MyRomyZone ...just be yourself is a lie that's been sold to average people. That's why it's important to be "far from average" (see what I did there;)

It's not a lie, being yourself 100% brings a lot of attraction. Even I was attracted to some, not-so attracted, women solely based on their overwhelming confidence.

If I see a stupidly good looking girl that has put a lot of effort onto herself and how she looks. My first thoughts are not at all that she is Intelligent or wealthy. my first thoughts are that she is extremely shallow and doesn't have more substance other than her looks. That is just what I assume if a girl dresses up in some showing off with stupidly expensive looking clothing and other "gear" (that also gives off a vibe that she manages her money poorly) way and has clearly spent like 2 h doing makeup and trimming and what not.

Astral Panda yeah some are probably like that but some are actually nice and just want to look attractive for you

This is true... When I first started getting paid I spent all my money on a studio and never got new clothes. Then I started freshening up and out of nowhere I started noticing attention. I don't look the "flyest" in school, but I think showing I care a lot about my appearance gives off an attractive vibe... Lmk if anyone else experienced this?...

I have always hated this part of people. I decided to remove such people coming near by being normal and not adjusting to attract others but to look nice for myself (wear a bit of make-up). Sometimes it can't be helped, especially in school settings when other people would know how far up your are in academics. Due to this halo effect, I had one girl assume I was in a nice normal family, eating very well and taking care of myself. The truth is my dad is ill who can't work so minimum income, my mum looks after him where there is no time to spend on the kids and there was a lot of depression hanging around at the time so didn't eat well or maintain myself. Despite all the bad events with people, it makes great stories and would be thought provoking.

Back when I was in High School, I accidently used this theory and I made a girl I'd never even talked to before fall head over heels for me.
