@@AmyHerman-g8v unfortunately no it does not work for subitems. I do think that you can use a third party tool like make.com or an app to do this if you are interested.

I love this, thank you! I just need the 'NUMBER' column to be a constant 7 for every task every time in the whole board, I'm trying to figure out how to either auto-populate 7 in the number column or build it into the automation but those options aren' available in the custom automation dialog argh!

Nope, I have not found that. That would be something that you should bring up with monday support.

Unfortunately not at this time. You could try this with a third party tool like make.com

OH $(#%*#(* I've been searching for WEEKS for something that will do this, I've tried every 3rd party plug-in, just spent 2 days getting 'GENERAL CASTER' to work only to find out subitems aren't supported, only subitem summaries (they bait and switched in their marketing!) This is so frustrating. :(
