Arena mode is the most annoying to me. You want to place high for those power cores. I know I won't place high and have accepted that, so I just do the 5 matches to earn points toward the World Warrior Milestone. I don't like Arena, but I use it to get progression on that Milestone. That helps me avoid frustration and burnout, while still earning some rewards from both.
